This poem by Harivansh Rai Bachchan serves as a call for dynamic perseverance. It warns against laziness/procrastination if you don’t transform your inner fire (thought) into a shining "flame" (action), you will inevitably turn into "ashes" (Failure).

Economic Inflation Terms: 1.Stagflation Simultaneous occurrence of slow economic growth (stagnation) and high inflation. 2.Disinflation Positive but declining inflation (rate of change of inflation is negative). Example: Inflation falls from 7% to 4%. 3.Deflation Negative inflation — prices are falling. Skewflation Uneven inflation where prices of some commodities rise sharply while others stay stable or fall (disproportionate inflation). 4.Shrinkflation Manufacturers reduce the size, quantity, or weight of a product while keeping the price the same (hidden inflation). 5.Skimpflation Reduction in product quality (cheaper ingredients, thinner materials) while the price remains unchanged. 6.Hyperinflation Extremely high inflation (can exceed 50% per month in extreme cases). Contrasts with creeping inflation (mild 2-3% inflation, which is considered growth-friendly). 7.Reflation Deliberate government or central bank policy to increase inflation after a period of low inflation or deflation. 8.Greedflation Inflation driven primarily by corporate profit-seeking and greed rather than supply-demand fundamentals. 9.Greenflation Inflation caused by the rising costs of the green energy transition and environmental policies.

5⃣2⃣ days left. Brainstorming: 24×7. That’s how you retain maximum in the final stretch.
After reading or revising something important — don’t talk, don’t watch anything, don’t scroll.
Just sit quietly and let that information sink in. Let your mind replay it again and again.
This small gap of deliberate silence is where real retention happens.

How's the josh?

A very common dilemma right now: “I have to cover static + PYQs + Current Affairs + give mocks… but time is running out. What should be my priority?” Priority Order : 1. Revision of Static. This is non-negotiable. 2. PYQ Solving & Analysis : Solve topic-wise PYQs of at least 15 years. Analyze what and why? This teaches UPSC’s pattern. 3. Targeted CA-  Focus only on high-yield topics of these 4 subjects (S&Tech, IR- places + organisations, Environment, Economy). We will help you in this. 4. Mock Tests (4th Priority) Mocks only after decent revision. Without revision, mocks may increase anxiety and demotivation.
Better to revise 70% of the syllabus 4 times than cover 100% once.
Solution : Divide your day like this: 60% → Static Revision 25% → PYQ Practice 10% → Current Affairs 5% → Quick CSAT practice Small consistent steps beat big scattered efforts.

If you truly want to succeed in Prelims, you must stop listening to your feelings and push through the these 50 odd days. At first, everyone has a lot of motivation and does a lot, but then, during last 40-50 days, most people give up because they no longer have confidence and start doubting. Don't be one of those who act according to their desires; be one of those who do things even when they don't feel like it. If you only pay attention to your mood and feelings, your mind will trick you to the leisure. However, if you win over your mind even on these tough days, you will have the chance to write mains this year. And that's how success is achieved, with a vision, a bit of motivation, but fundamentally, it consists of discipline and perseverance.

5⃣7⃣ days left 🎯 It’s completely okay to feel tired or scared. Just don’t let that fear push you into passive comfort. Active discomfort is much more meaningful in the long term.
Passive Comfort (What most aspirants choose right now): 1. Watching long video lectures / marathons for hours 2. Feeling “I’m studying” because the video is playing 3. Highlighting notes or underlining without recalling 4. Jumping between topics without deep revision 5. Doing easy reading or summaries Result: You feel productive, but retention is low. In the exam hall, your mind goes blank.
Active Discomfort (What actually clears Prelims): 1.Closing the book and trying to recall everything from memory (Blurting) 2.Solving PYQs without looking at notes first 3. Writing micro-summaries in your own words 4.Teaching the topic aloud as if explaining to someone 5.Repeated revision of weak areas even when it feels boring/tiring Result: It feels mentally exhausting in the moment, but this is what builds rock-solid memory and exam readiness.
