a non-human creature who doesn't know how to live like a person wants to understand kindness, friendship and what it really means to be human so a person agrees to teach them, showing them empathy, language and even love. at first it's sweet the creature slowly becomes more human, gaining emotions, morality and even a more human appearance. but as the creature transforms, the human begins to fall apart. they become obsessed, isolated and consumed by guilt and fear until they lose their own humanity and become what they once feared. in the end the creature feels more human than the human ever did and their roles blur until it's impossible to tell whether they're saving each other or destroying each other.
