It must be known that recently Varg released new 2 singles that probably will be inserted tracks to The Land of Thulê (2024) or a sequel with the same name that he would release in double-album futurally. The two singles previously mentioned are "What Will Come" and "Elfland". Although 'What Will Come' have it 320kbps file already spreaded by own Varg in his Telegram channel, i wont republish it here for now because the album is not fully complete. It's really worth to listen to. ~D. Hvite Musik Station

[FLAC] - near to 210Mbs for some reason, these two tracks are missing as mp3 archives, probably by being the last releases. maybe considered as bonus tracks (?) since both are instrumental ambient tracks

Album: The Land of Thulê (2024) Genre: Atmospheric Black Metal Metal Archives [Highly Recommended] Different of the past 3 albums, and by some reason, after 12 years of Umskiptar, with an similar atmosphere, Varg surprises us with Burzum's fourteenth album The Land of Thulê, with black metal sounding again and keeping mostly charcteristics from the cited album. In early 2024, Varg releases some tracks randomly that evolved into a new album, and despite no one seems to care about, this is the one of the best underrated album that we got: My fav tracks are #1, #4, #5 and #7 ~D. Album: Thulêan Mysteries (2020) Genre: Ambient Music After Varg release his last full length in 2014 and supposedly end the band in 2018, he focused on creating a soundtrack for his RPG game MYFAROG and that's what we got. Thulêan Mysteries was made passively, in the sense that I never intended to make a new album [...] The music is a little bit of this and a little bit of that, transcending any genre, and perhaps belonging to many different genres. The intention with it was always to create a certain atmosphere, often related to an idea or a situation. Since my true passion has never been music, but actually tabletop role-playing games, I figured I should make this an album intended for that use; as background music for my own MYFAROG (Mythic Fantasy Role-playing Game). Hopefully you will get a sense of Thulê when you listen to this, like always with Burzum, ideally when on your own. I hope you will enjoy this soundtrack to Thulê, to Mother Nature and life itself. - Varg Vikernes ~D. Hvite Musik Station

Album: The Ways of Yore (2014) Genre: Ambient Music Discogs Metal Archives The Ways of Yore is the 12th album from Burzum. The Ways of Yore is similar in style to Burzum’s previous ambient albums, but differ in both style and vocal expression. A mix of haunting story telling channeled through distinct vocals combined with Burzum musical genius makes The Ways of Yore is a very interesting and innovative sounding album with mass appeal to Burzum fans. Inspired by Burzum's in-depth knowledge of our European history and evolution, The Ways of Yore is a continuation of his work to explore our Forebears and to explain our human evolution. Burzum says of the new album: The Ways of Yore is my first step towards something new, which at the same time is as old as the roots of Europe. With The Ways of Yore I try to transport the listener to the days of yore, to make them feel the past, that is still alive in their own blood. - Varg Vikernes, 2014 After this, Varg would end the band in 2018. ~D. Album: Sôl Austan, Mâni Vestan (2013) Genre: Ambient Music Discogs Metal Archives Eleventh full length. In a May 2013 interview, Varg said he would separate himself from the metal scene and stop playing metal music. I don't like the black metal (or any metal) life style, but that doesn't mean I have anything against those caught in this lifestyle. I no longer play metal music, so naturally I don't say this for commercial reasons. I just think that we get enough shit from the world we live in as it is. There is no reason to add to that load. According with him, the ambient sonority is a returning to the old ways, so he focused on it. Few weeks later, he released this full length, confirming it. Different from the past ambient albums, this one, instead of being 'dark', Varg turned his sonority into 'transcendental' Trivia: Varg made this album as a soundtrack for his wife's movie 'ForeBears' More Varg views to the metal scene: Confessions of a former Black Metal Degenerate ~D. Album: Umskiptar (2012) Genre: Atmospheric Black Metal Discogs Metal Archives Tenth full length and his last black metal album until he change the band to ambient music only. The 'Umskiptar' album is also a return-to-the-roots album for me, with a strong focus on atmosphere and wholeness rather than anything else. The vocals on this one however are more important than on any other album, with a total of 66 stanzas, some of them even repeated a few times, making up the lyrics of the album. The vocals are very important for the special atmosphere and are more important than on any other Burzum album, and more varied too and as honest as it gets. The concept of the album is 'Umskiptar' (English = 'Metamorphoses'), a deeply rooted European (i.e. Pagan) Stoic concept of changes. This concept was chosen in a world heading for a new Ice Age, and can therefore also be seen as critique of all the popular political movements of our age of lies. - Varg Vikernes Best tracks: #2, #6, #7, #9 ~D.
