Excerpt from Odin's Chosen, written by Faolchú Ifreann & Tyrsoak Josephsson "Faolchú's Morning Salutation: Stand facing north and close your eyes. Envision a bright white orb the size of your fist hovering above your head. This orb symbolizes the Holy Light of Asgard. With your sword hand, reach up and wrap your hand around it. Feel the energy. Slowly begin to pull this energy down to you. Rotate your fist so that your thumbs first knuckle is pointed towards you. (It is easier to draw runes with your thumb like this.) Pull the energy down to your forehead, mark the Ansuz ᚨ rune then say: "Odin, Wotan, Warrior of Warriors, Lord of the hosts, terror of asgard's foes be thou honored. All Father, Harr, Ordeal Master, and winner of the runes, guide me this day. God of magic, impart upon me your wisdom. Battle master, wielder of Gungnir, lead me to victory." Pull the energy down to your mouth and mark the Fehu ᚠ rune, then say: "Freya, Vanadís, Gefn, luckbringer, be thou hailed! Goddess of Seiør, teach me the secret words of your magic. Goddess of war, queen of valkyries, lend me your shield. Gird and guide me to be victorious today." Pull the energy down to your heart and mark the Uruz ᚢ rune, then say: "Baldr, I call upon you who waits imprisoned in Hel's dark halls. Power me with your courage and perseverance. Great teacher, lend me your endurance and fortitude so that my spirit cannot be broken."   Pull the energy over to your left shoulder and mark the Thurisaz ᚦ rune, then say: "Thor, Thunar, Red-Beard, be thou hailed! Wielder of Mjölnir, I fear nothing with you on my side. Protector of midgard, lend me your strength to break down any barrier in my path." Pull the energy to your right shoulder and mark the Teiwaz ᛏ rune, then say: "Tyr, God of justice, sacrifice and right action, I honor you. Lord of swords, one handed god, give me the courage to do what must be done. God of honor, lead me along the path of right action and help me do what is right in the face of all fear." Continue with Sigdrífa's prayer and begin the day with the blessings of the Gods. Sigdrífa's Prayer Hail day Hail Day's sons Hail Night and her daughter Look upon me with loving eyes That waiting I gain victory.
