Lieve rebellen,
🔥🔥🔥 Vandaag kwamen we in liefde en woede bijeen. We blokkeerden, zoals we hadden gezegd, de 🅰️🔟 om te eisen dat ING stopt met het financieren van - en de dienstverlening aan - de misdadige fossiele industrie. Heel het land stond weer op z’n kop.
🫶Heel veel mensen staan achter onze doelen, misschien wel een meerderheid van alle mensen. Maar ook al was dat niet zo dan hadden we het evengoed gedaan. Want wij hebben namelijk gewoon gelijk. We zitten in een klimaatnoodtoestand en ING moet stoppen met olie op het vuur gooien. Dus als ING niet snel gaat veranderen, dan komen we terug. Met meer, steeds meer, totdat ze dat wel doen. De crisis is nu en we hebben geen tijd te verliezen.
🌱Door onze regeneratieve cultuur nemen we tijd om te rusten, voor elkaar en onszelf te zorgen en te regenereren. Door onze vreedzaamheid krijgen ze geen vat op ons. Zo worden we nooit moe terwijl de tegenstander steeds wanhopiger wordt en meer en meer raakt uitgeput. Er is voor hen maar één uitweg… Zo zullen we uiteindelijk winnen.
🏆 ongeveer 190 rebellen zijn vandaag gearresteerd*. 40 dappere rebellen zitten nog vast in het cellencomplex Zuidoost voor artikel 162. Als je de arrestee support komt versterken wordt dat zeer gewaardeerd!

Dear rebels,
🔥🔥🔥 Today we gathered in love and rage. We blocked, as we had said, the 🅰️🔟 to demand that ING stop financing - and servicing - the criminal fossil industry. The whole country was upside down again.
🫶Many people support our goals, perhaps a majority of all people. But even if they didn't we would have done it just as well. After all, we are simply right. We are in a climate emergency and ING needs to stop throwing fuel on the fire. So if ING doesn't start changing soon, we'll be back. With more, more and more, until they do. The crisis is now and we have no time to waste.
🌱By our regenerative culture, we take time to rest, care for and regenerate each other and ourselves. Because of our peacefulness, they don't get a hold of us. Thus, we never get tired while the opponent becomes more and more desperate and exhausted. There is only one way out for them... This is how we will win in the end.
🏆 About 190 rebels were arrested today*. 40 brave rebels are still detained in the Zuidoost cell complex for Article 162. If you come to join the arrestee support it is greatly appreciated!

☠️The fossil propaganda machine is running at full speed. With all their might they are trying to bring down our peaceful movement, which has increasing support among the people. But they are not succeeding.
❤️They depict us as madmen, as dreamers, as "unrealistic," as extremists, as dangerous, as "terrorists" even. In the darkness of the early morning, they lift us from our beds, they lock us up, mistreat us and punish us. We are now even to the point of having debates in the parliament about how they can silence us. But we will not be put away. We will not be silenced. Peacefully we bend back and we come back to the important places, with more and more, until they start doing what is needed. We are Extinction Rebellion.
✊Today we stand up against the injustice ING brings to the world, the billions in fossil financing that contribute to further climate disruption, creating the worst nightmares for our brothers and sisters who have contributed the least. In solidarity and loving connection with the most affected communities, today we will bring ING, the Netherlands' largest fossil financier, to its senses.

onze vreedzame beweging, die steeds meer steun heeft onder de mensen, klein te maken. Maar het lukt ze niet.
❤️Ze schilderen ons af als gekken, als dromers, als "niet realistisch", als extremisten, als gevaarlijk, als “terroristen” zelfs. In de duisternis van de vroege morgen lichten ze ons van onze bedden, ze sluiten ons op, mishandelen ons en straffen ons. We zijn nu zelfs zover dat er hele kamerdebatten gevoerd worden over hoe ze ons het zwijgen op kunnen leggen. Maar wij laten ons niet wegzetten. Wij laten ons niet de mond snoeren. Vreedzaam buigen we terug en we komen terug naar de belangrijke plaatsen, met steeds meer, totdat ze gaan doen wat nodig is. Wij zijn Extinction Rebellion.

In this letter, the mayor of Amsterdam again informs us that instead of demonstrating on the A10 we have to go to the lawn in front of the “Poenschoen”.
👉 No way! We are in a climate emergency and meanwhile ING continues with fossil financing. This goes beyond all limits and must stop. Since nothing has helped so far, a next step is needed.
👉Unless ING announces it will stop financing - and providing services to - the fossil industry, we will block the A10 motorway on January 25 starting at noon
✅ So everything will go ahead as planned.
✊ We are fully within our rights in this regard. Moreover, the A10 has been closed to traffic at this spot before. And also during the celebration of Amsterdam's 750th anniversary, the A10 will be largely closed. No problem then 😎

✉️ Post van de burgemeester!
In deze brief laat de burgemeester van Amsterdam weer weten dat we in plaats van op de A10 op het grasveldje voor de poenschoen moeten demonstreren.
👉 Geen sprake van! We zitten in een klimaatnoodtoestand en ondertussen gaat ING gewoon door met fossiele financiering. Dat gaat alle perken te buiten en moet stoppen. Omdat tot nu toe niets heeft geholpen is een volgende stap nodig.
👉Tenzij ING aankondigt te stoppen met de financiering van - en dienstverlening aan - de fossiele industrie, blokkeren we op 25 januari vanaf 12.00 uur de A10
✅ Alles gaat dus door zoals gepland.
✊ We staan hierbij volledig in ons recht. De A10 is op deze plek bovendien vaker afgesloten geweest voor het verkeer. En ook bij de viering van het 750 jarig bestaan van Amsterdam zal de A10 voor een groot deel dicht gaan. Geen probleem dus 😎
