The Sorrows of Young Werther by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe Never before I touched fiction books until last year. I have always considered fiction books to be a waste of time and only recently I discovered that these books are about real life, real struggles and deep philosophy that you yourself need to figure out. Non-fiction books give you the information explicitly and you know what people say: ‘if it is free, then it is not worth a dime’. Conversely with fiction you need to think a lot to bring the theory into surface and there can be thousand assumptions about what was really implied. This particular book was about a strong emotional attachment that a man had to a married woman. You know what it is called, don’t you? ‘Forbidden apple’ of a kind did not let him sleep, breathe or even think. He always imagined having her next to him. He had so many delusional thoughts of who she is, what is her character. He got attached to his delusional feelings, his scenarios than her herself. But he consciously did not recognize that. He fooled himself to death to believe that only her can make him happy. His commitment to his belief made him kill himself. I read this book since it closely resonated with my situation last year. Half of last year I wasted on being obsessed with my delusions of someone. Once again I reminded myself of how my brain can play a joke on me. PDF VERSION IS HERE 📌 @annisuphere | #identityofself

How China is designing flood-resistant cities

These "sponge city" designs resist floods and increase biodiversity to help us adapt to a changing climate. This episode is presented by Delta. Delta doesn’t have a say in our editorial decisions, but they make videos like this possible. For more information, visit http://www.delta.com/sustainability. Subscribe to our channel and turn on notifications (🔔) so you don't miss any videos: http://goo.gl/0bsAjO From rising sea levels in Mumbai to unbearable heat in Houston, cities around the world are feeling the effects of climate change. Unfortunately, they don’t always have the right infrastructure to handle its impacts — which is one reason why cities are beginning to reimagine urban design. One of these designs is a “sponge city.” Although one city design certainly won’t save us from the effects of climate change, “sponge cities” can help with how we live with it.
