Greece is expected to sign agreements for its €3 billion integrated, multi-layered air and missile defence system, known as the “Achilles Shield”, in Tel Aviv on Monday.
According to reports in Greece, the agreements are scheduled to be signed on August 31 between the Greek defence ministry’s General Directorate for Defence Investments and Armaments (GDDIA) and the Israeli International Defence Cooperation Directorate (SIBAT), alongside the relevant Israeli defence bodies and companies participating in the programme.
The Achilles Shield is intended to provide Greece with an integrated network capable of countering ballistic missiles, aircraft and drones, with Israeli-made radars and missile systems forming the core of the architecture.
The programme was approved by Greece’s Government Council for Foreign Affairs and Defence (KYSEA) on July 23.
Speaking following the approval, Greek Defence Minister Nikos Dendias said spending on the air defence systems would amount to just over €3 billion.

🔻What does the industry balance look like as of August 2026?
▪️Production in the country reached 1.25 million barrels per day, while exports hold at 1.16 million b/d.
▪️Shipments to the U.S. exceeded 500 thousand b/d, reaching a peak of 786 thousand b/d – the highest since 2019.
▪️Washington established a return route: over 100 thousand b/d of naphtha flows to Caracas to dilute heavy Orinoco crude.
▪️Due to volume diversion to the U.S., exports to India fell by nearly half (to 178 thousand b/d), and to Europe – to 82 thousand b/d.
▪️Meanwhile, queues pile up at terminals: due to worn-out berths and frequent accidents, tankers sit idle for weeks waiting to load.
The pragmatism of the Americans lies in the fact that refineries in Texas and Louisiana were historically built for heavy Venezuelan bitumen grades. Access to PDVSA crude closed the deficit at domestic refineries. Chevron leads here, with its joint ventures (Petropiar, Petroboscán) reaching 280 thousand b/d.
📌 However, the growth in U.S. shipments did not lead to the collapse of Russian projects. Zarubezhneft assets conduct normal production. While Americans take contractual volumes, raw materials from joint ventures with Russia flow through regional channels and blending at terminals.
❗️Thus, the U.S. accelerates crude extraction for its own refineries, ignoring Russia's presence at the fields. Without $100 billion in investments to replace aging infrastructure, the White House is forced to tolerate Russian specialists working at the deposits.

What happened today is they have requested an Interpol Red Notice, which activates law enforcement across the EU and compels them to arrest Netanyahu if he lands anywhere in Europe.
Trump and Erdogan (and their allies) are turning the system against itself. They are pitting Israel against the EU, NATO, and the UN, which are all organizations that historically have supported them. (Israel was literally created in 1948 via the UN’s Palestine Partition Plan.)
