| 3 |  How are you liking the new update? Have you noticed the increase in battery life or played with the fidget toy?
We haven't actually timed the battery life increase yet because we have been so busy, but we took some Ravelights out this weekend and have noticed they lasted way longer, but we are super curious about your experience so far! And gosh, the fidget toy is so cool. I'm super proud of DDR's work on the new software.
We are pretty stoked to announce, while still in the early research phase, that we are working on Ravelight DMX support. This means that you will be able to walk into a dance and magically sync to the light show of the stage. And if you are an AV tech or DJ, you will be able to add a layer to your performance by syncing the crowd to your lighting.
The video below is us updating freshly built Ravelights to RavelightOS3 V3 for their new owners :D

This was one of the hardest updates we've worked on! No joke!
We have drastically improved the user experience of your Ravelight, making it outperform any other wearable light on the market.

New Features:
1. Large improvement in battery life:
- Ravelights will last you ALL NIGHT and MORE
- Charge while turned on more efficiently than before
- Code is much more efficient. The operating current consumption of the Ravelight Mainboard is nearly half. (It will also run a bit cooler too)
- New Smart Brightness!
2. Smart Brightness:
- Ravelights now feature Smart Brightness. Ravelights will suggest a max brightness for the current battery percent. It will try and stay bright for as long as possible, changing brightness as needed to last as long as possible.
- When the Ravelight is in critical battery, it will reduce its brightness instead of shutting off to give you even more time to shine.
New Brightness Controls
1. Hold +/- to change brightness
2. Move the brightness indicator to the displayed suggested brightness. It will "magnetize"
3. When Magnetized, the Ravelight will activate Smart Brightness for maximum battery life and shiny-ness, and you won't have to change anything.
4. If you want to un-magnetize, and you can break free of the magnet, by holding +/- and set the brightness to whatever you like.
TIP: Don't want to think about it? Magnetize the brightness indicator and your Ravelight will be very bright for as long as possible, and adjust on its own to last the longest it possibly can :D
Fidget Toy!
At a party and wanna zone out for a bit without going on your phone? Introducing Fidget Toy!
Hold +/- to enter. Bounce the brightness indicator off the ends of the Ravelight rope, build acceleration and get it going really fast. Find the hidden easter egg! :D It's actually really fun lol
Syncing
Syncing reliability is improved!
TIP: For the absolute best syncing we’ve built, update all your Ravelights. Older versions will sync but less reliably.
Very Cool New Update Animation!
- Ravelight becomes an update progress loading bar
- Each “pixel” filling up the loading bar is a real life data packet being sent to the Ravelight.
- Also slightly beat reactive as an easter egg!
- If you own several Ravelights: Each Ravelight colour matches the loading bar colour on your computer, so if you are updating multiple, you can track which one is which.
