Black Balloons, 2016 © Tadao Cern «Black Balloons» is a series of sculptural installations by Lithuanian artist Tadas Cerniauskas, aka TadaoCern. For an extensive amount of time I had an idea to connect two balloons. I found a free minute between the other currently run projects, bought two balloons, and got overwhelmed by the result. It was so unpretentious and so magical at the same time! That opposition created by two very simple and playful objects once again brought a unique childlike sense of discovery. This experience uncovers a lot and the more one looks at it, the more it becomes true: ‘simplicity is genius’. For the first test I only used two balloons and two different gasses: helium and sulfur hexafluoride – the light and the heavy ones. Later on I worked out how to make the balloons float in the middle of a glass tank without connecting them to anything. 🪡⚫️

Split Rocket Science / Cognition, 2020 © Felix Schöppner
«Cognition» was born out of an interest in exploring how to photograph something that is essentially impossible to photograph. I wanted to develop my own representations of specific topics in astronomy, with familiar objects as the content of the images, in order to make them more tangible to the viewer.
Felix Schöppner (b.1990) is an artist from south Hesse, Germany. Since 2017 he works mostly in the genre of still life with a link to sculpture and installation. His work impresses with a high degree of stringency and perfection, both in terms of content and implementation. 🪡⚫️

Release 3 → Gravity extension for NFTs owners (mobile only); → Fullscreen mode updated; → Fixed a bug with a disappearing Degree° on some devices; → Security updates and design improvements. 3.2 – Dark Mofo, 2021 © 404.zero This accomplished and ever-ambitious duo of A/V architects and toolmakers cook up mind-altering experiences in generative art that require expertise in math, coding and the science of sound. By creating mesmerizing digital matter of frighteningly porous frontiers exclusively through coding and modular gear, they push back the limits of footage and sample-free language that is opulent and breathtakingly singular. Taking as starting points their most irrepressible fascinations with death, the unknown and the cosmos, they craft thrilling, precise, painterly code-art that broaches big philosophical questions and provides mesmerizing though highly speculative answers. Together, Kristina and Aleksandr create modern generative art and innovative tools that raise the bar on the synergistic possibilities of visuals and sound. 🪡⚫️

AV Phasing Waves, 2021 © Ricky van Broekhoven and Albert van Abbe Vibrations and cycles exist at all levels of the universe, from subatomic processes to the movement of celestial bodies. Everything is in constant flux. On the quantum level, where the smallest particles reside, basic laws of physics are challenged, offering new possibilities for our understanding of space, time, and matter. 🪡⚫️

What the focus? Cave, 2014 © Karolina Halatek Intense flickering generated by different frequencies of strobe lights engages attention entirely. Complete focus gives the possibility to be in the moment and reset from the ordinary way of perceiving. Cave refers to the mystery that lies between illumination and silence. Karolina is interested in experiences that extend to the edge of human knowledge, seeking a visual language to evoke feelings and emotions of virtually unknown phenomena. 🪡⚫️

Balance The Stone that The Builder Refused, 2017 © Jose Dávila Dávila creates complex structural systems in which stones, construction materials and found objects remain in perilous balance, often balancing the weight of the elements in order to create a stable composition through the use of ratchet straps or wires. His larger on-site installations often involve site-specific materials. Borderless STAR/KL, 2021 © Jun Ong STAR/KL is an illuminated installation comprised of 111 LED beams in various sizes that burst outward in the open-air structure, impaling the chainlink fence, support columns, and facade of the Air Building at The Godown art center. Described as an «extraterrestrial light being», the glowing public work performs a hypnotic dance of flashes and flickers each night with an accompanying sound component by Reza Othman. 🪡⚫️

Quiet Place Wavering, 2023 © Lachlan Turczan An ellipse of light is projected onto a pool, which reflects a circle onto a translucent screen to be superimposed on the landscape. When the water is disturbed, it distorts the circle into wavering patterns that eventually return to a simplified geometry. 🪡⚫️

Simple yet Complex Turning the Place Over, 2007 © Richard Wilson The work consisted of a vast 10 metre diameter ovoid section of the facade of a disused building in Liverpool. This section of facade had been cut free allowing it to rotate. This was made possible by mounting the ovoid section of architecture onto a central spindle, aligned at a specific angle to the building. When at rest the ovoid section of façade fitted flush into the rest of the building. The angled spindle was, however, placed on a set of powerful motorised industrial rollers, allowing it to rotate 360 degrees continuously. As it rotated, the facade not only became completely inverted but also oscillated into the building and out into the street, revealing the interior of the building, and only being flush with the building at one point during its rotation. This created an acute sense of disorientation and even danger for the viewer as the architecture physically encroaches on them. 🪡⚫️

Dan-Sha-Ri (断捨離) → a Japanese approach to minimalism and order. 断 (Dan) — Refuse or Reject. It encourages refusing unnecessary things from entering your life, such as unwanted items, information, or commitments. 捨 (Sha) Dispose. This means getting rid of unnecessary things that already exist in your surroundings. 離 (Ri) — Separate or Detach. This represents emotional and physical detachment from things, allowing you to focus on what truly matters. /\/\/ °
