I Miss My Childhood Friend
I miss my friend from my childhood,
the one who lived upstairs in my house.
The one who annoyed me endlessly,
the boy who teased me, made me shout,
then stayed behind to comfort me.
He has seen me through my highs and lows
through quiet smiles and silent frowns.
How I miss exchanging sorry notes
when I hit him harder, fooling around.
In his innocence, he forgave me still
every single time I broke down.
How he played badminton with me
just to see me laugh, just to please.
Down in all those moments
I never knew what he meant to me.
How badly I wanted to hold his hand,
yet never dared to let him see.
But I miss my childhood friend
perhaps not just a friend at heart,
but something more than words could name,
a feeling hidden from the start.
The cruelest twist of lifeβs own game
we were torn apart
before I could confess my heart.
How I wanted to sit by his side
while playing chain-chain in the lane.
How I made small, silly excuses
to walk with him again and again.
Even hitting him a little harder,
just to trade letters sweet and plain,
written in the purest language of love,
the innocent kind, without pain.
How I asked the color of his outfit,
just so mine could match his too,
dreaming of weddings in my thoughts,
floating on a cloud or two.
Being on the seventh heaven, thinking
what if we were more than friends?
That quiet question in my heart
never seemed to find its end.

The night is still young,
the stars still tremble above.
But unfortunately, the passage of time
does not remain the same.
The youth of mine is gone,
the summer of my life has faded.
My body aches with pain
while my thoughts are being chained.
The version of me feels dull now.
Life laughs at me,
and I find myself defeated
in the silence of the crowd.
Once, I proudly challenged the world;
now that pride is gone.
All I do is mourn.

I notice the absence
of your tender words
the words that once
soothed my wounds.
I feel the emptiness
where our laughter
and shared joys
used to live.
I search in every
possible way to find you.
Perhaps I still ache
for that spark
that once made
both of us feel alive.
Now itβs all just
a quiet hollow,
a small lacuna
where you used to be.
The world feels
too silent,
too still,
without you near me.

Hey everyone
Just a quick note!!
I'll no longer be posting my poetry here.
Not because Im giving it up, never! Poetry is the only balm that soothes my soul and helps me heal.
But for now, I have decided to keep my words to myself. Maybe one day, Iβll gather the courage to publish them properly.
Thank you for all the love and support you've shown me. It truly means the world.
If anyone wishes to leave the channel, I completely understand.
I wonβt be deleting it though, this space holds too many emotions and memories.
This isnβt a goodbye.
Itβs just a see you later.

I knew it would sting, but, sometimes to set things right, you must walk through the wrong.

I asked myself, "Why so they canβt ask me how I am doing?
Why am I the one to approach them first?
Why am I the one to look out for them every time?
Why me always β the first one to care about them?
Why not them?"
And in the midst of quiet storm of my mind,
whispered
βBecause the thirsty one goes to the well,
not the well doesnβt come to the thirsty man.β
And a sudden jerk of realisation that I needed them,
but they didnβt need me.
