Hi! I am curious about your stats, like your GRE score IELTS or TOEFL?
GRE: 315/340
Quant: 162/170
Verbal: 153/170
AWA: 3.5/6.0
TOEFL: 102/120 (equivalent of IELTS 7.5) | 355 |

Can you tell us about your achievements? I mean I don't have any and I don't know what to write my CV
Whenever I participate in any project or program , I fail because of this problem. I am also going to study my masters degree abroad. I am third years student at the university
What will you recommend to me?
To be honest it depends on your profile, where you want to study, what kind of career you want to pursue, and other important factors.
What I can tell you for sure is that if you want to participate in the projects just to fill your CV, then it is a bad idea. Instead try to make meaningful connections, participate in the projects that resonate with your aspirations, have internships and work only in those companies that deeply interest you.
Overall on your job/project you either earn or learn. If there’s one it is okay, if you get both that’s excellent, but if you get none, then you should get the other project for yourself.
I hope that answers to your question. | 349 |

personal statement for bachelor and master are different?
Basics are the same. But, the level of the content slightly differs.
In grad school essays you mostly show what you learned during your undergraduate years, show your passion to your particular major, whereas an undergraduate SOP is broader.
If you have any relevant experience in that field, you can mention that and tell the admissions officers your future plans and why you would be an asset for their community.
The most important thing while writing essays for your applications is to start earlier, and revise it a lot, ask feedbacks from your friends and other people, whose opinion is important for you. | 309 |

Hey! Do u offer one on one consultations on grad school applications?
I was giving free 15-20 minute one on one consultations back in April and May. Nowadays I am busy with pre-orientation sessions, doing my Math, getting in academic shape basically, and trying to enjoy my time while I am here. Right now, unfortunately, I don’t have much time for that. | 310 |

did you applied to u chicago by your self or with a help of someone?
It depends on what you mean by help of someone.
If you mean the consulting agenies, nope I didn’t apply to one.
Neither I can say that I applied solely by myself. It is not an easy job to apply just by yourself. Still not an impossible one, but difficult.
Thank God I have very supportive friends and family.
I had friends who checked my essays, proofread my CV, helped me present myself in a best way possible during the application.
The key advice here is don’t be afraid/shy/timid to ask for help. | 304 |

Weren’t you afraid of your grad school location, as Chicago is mostly known for its shootings and there were incidents related to killing the student. According to your experience, how to overcome this fear?
Yes, I agree that the University of Chicago is located next to an unpleasant neighborhood. But from what I have heard from the students is that people feel safe on campus. Plus the University has one of the biggest private police departments in the US.
I feel more worried about the rigor of the curriculum rather than gangsters from the South Chicago) | 294 |

How did you manage to prepare for TOEFL, is it was with the help of tutor or by yourself?
I prepared for TOEFL by myself. It took me just a month or two.
I was confident that I have a good chance to score well, and that I don’t need a class of English to attend 3 times a week.
There is a myriad of resources available on the internet.
The one I found particularly helpful is TST prep.
Best of luck with your preparation! | 300 |

I loved this episode with Professor Natalia Zubarevich.
Highly recommend you to watch this podcast with this intelligent lady. You will not regret the time that you spent.
I agree that there was a couple of moments, where the host was irritating and asked very primitive and dumb questions.
But overall, this podcast touches so many interesting topics starting with the political structure of Russia and finishing with the development of human capital and internal migration.
I believe you can relate it to Uzbekistan as well. | 350 |
| 14 | Do not miss this opportunity.
One of the best projects in Uzbekistan that makes soooo many things soooo accessible to the Uzbek-speaking public.
Hope to see you there👋🏼 | 516 |

| 17 | Just took a mandatory Math self-assessment test for Harris.
It has been a while since I did my Math for GRE. It turns out that I have to keep up with bunch of classes in order to get myself “in shape” before the start of the classes.
So, I wanted to ask you to recommend in the comments specific resources that could help me improve my Calculus skills. Your help would be greatly appreciated🙌🏼 | 616 |
| 18 | On this Monday I participated in the “1st WIUT Social Sciences Research Proposal Competition” organized by Westminster International University in Tashkent. I presented my research proposal on the topic of “Examining the Impact of Deworming on Academic Performance of Schoolchildren from Rural Parts of Uzbekistan”.
I proposed Randomized Controlled Trials (RCT) as a methodology, with all limitations such as parents’ consent after recent incidents regarding children’s health after Antistrumin and Doc 1 Max distribution.
It was great to connect with the young researchers from different Universities across Uzbekistan. Honestly, I didn’t expect to win this competition as the youngest contestant.
When the winner was announced, I didn’t believe my ears, because 70% of the finalists were either PhD candidates or Postdoc researchers. It’s a great achievement to be selected as a finalist, but being recognized as a winner is a whole other experience.
I was so surprised and excited that I didn’t even take a picture🤦🏻♂️🙃 | 640 |

| 20 | Real case showing the true cost of being admitted to top graduate schools. Especially MBA. This table only shows financial expenses, there are lots of unseen costs as well as opportunity cost, mental health, relationships, etc.
Her own words in another post:
My words of wisdom to those applying to top MBA programs or considering it - it's difficult. Your time, confidence, and resilience will be tested. You will sacrifice so much to accomplish your goal. However, don't sacrifice time with your loved ones for the sake of it. Life is short. 20 extra GMAT points was not worth less time with my grandfather before his passing.
This post is not intended to discourage you. Rather it aims to inform you of possible expenses that you will face
