NFP is the US jobs report. It tells markets how many people found work that month.
Here’s the connection to gold.
Gold and the US Dollar move in opposite directions. Strong dollar means lower gold. Weak dollar means higher gold.
When NFP comes in stronger than expected — more jobs than forecast — traders expect the Federal Reserve to keep interest rates high. Higher rates make the dollar more attractive. Dollar strengthens. Gold drops.

Let's start this week with something important.
Last week NFP moved gold over 1000 pips in a single session. Events like that are a reminder of one thing every trader needs to understand.
News events change everything.
No matter how clean your technical setup is, if a major news event is scheduled during your trade, the fundamentals can override every level you've drawn.
Here's how I approach high impact news.
I check the economic calendar before every session. If there's a red folder event — NFP, CPI, Fed rate decision, FOMC — I either close open positions before the release or I size down significantly and widen my stop to account for the spike.
Never hold a full position through a red folder news event. The move can be so fast and so large that your stop doesn't even trigger at your price.
Know the calendar. Respect the news. Always.
