🚩 On this day in 1925, the US civil rights leader and global revolutionary Malcolm X was born. Malcolm X was a prominent figure in the Nation of Islam, which advocated for Black self-reliance and separation. In the years before his assassination in 1965, Malcolm X developed a more expansive vision of solidarity, connecting the oppression of Black people in the US to the anti-imperialist struggles of all colonised people, from the Congo to Palestine. Malcolm X’s revolutionary life continues to inspire popular movements around the world.

🌹 Happy 154th birthday to our favourite “sexually emancipated communist woman”! Alexandra Kollontai fiercely devoted her life to the struggle for collective liberation. As a leading Bolshevik revolutionary, formidable Marxist theorist, and central figure in the early Soviet government, Kollontai made countless contributtions to matierially improving the lives of working-class people, especially women, in the USSR and to redefining debates on gender, labour, and socialist construction.

🌹 Alexandra Kollontai was born in Saint Petersburg 154 years ago today. Kollontai fiercely devoted her life to the struggle for collective liberation. As a leading Bolshevik revolutionary, formidable Marxist theorist, and central figure in the early Soviet government, she contributed matierially improving the lives of countless working-class people, especially women, and to redefining debates on gender, labour, and socialist construction.

🇨🇺 Cuba is resisting the US oil embargo through renewable energy. Renewables provide a way for Global South countries to reduce their dependency on US-controlled international oil flows. China’s massive strides in renewable energy have helped it withstand US neo-colonialism and to support other Global South countries, like Cuba, in doing the same. 🌞 Harvest the sun. Decompose the US empire!
