“Blessed is the man who trusts in Him.” The older I get the less convinced I am that my life, and others too, is held together or incredibly influenced by making enough good decisions. I’ve seen plans that should have worked collapse and at same time seen things I never asked for become some of God’s greatest gifts. I’ve watched doors close that I fought to keep open and doors I thought would be forever closed, swing wide open. Age and experience hasn’t made me feel more in control. The pressure to foresee every consequence, protect every relationship, create every opportunity, preserve every good thing, is far too exhausting and more importantly, fruitless to some degree. I still care deeply about what I’m building and do it with the BEST of my ability but with also with the awareness of the least of my ability, and the BEST of His sovereignty. Trust in this season is finally accepting that I don’t have to believe, agree or accept what He’s doing but believe, follow and accept Him. I’m still learning to untangle responsibility with control. It’s one huge knot. 🪢 Thankfully He is good with freeing people. ❤️

“What if I don’t believe anymore?” Anymore may not be forever :). Faith takes us through seasons. We love the neatness and linearity of “from strength to strength” but the messiness is hidden in the tiniest word… “to”. The wrestle, the wandering and the in-between. That stretch where you are not sure what’s happening in you, just that everything feels different. The beautify of the Christian faith is that salvation did not begin with us and is not sustained by our own ability to hold everything together perfectly. The Father knows how to raise and walk with His children, the Shepherd knows how to lead His sheep…. … to green pastures, still waters. He is not threatened by our fatigue, confused by our wandering, nor startled by our humanity. He is far more resilient, enduring and compassionate, than our anxieties and baggage can comprehend. “Anymore” may not be forever. Don’t confuse the winter for a funeral. I’m confident the God who began this story with us, will lead us home.

As we grow older, relationships start to look very different and it’s meant to be incredibly beautiful if we would dare to allow it to… change. ♥️ Some of us still carry this quiet anxiety that something is wrong because our lives no longer resemble the picture of friendship we were taught to expect. A tight group. Frequent dinners. Constant messaging. Trips together. That model exists. But it is only one form of relationship. Most adult lives are built on a far more varied ecosystem of connections. There are the builders: People you build things with. Work, projects, communities, ideas. Your relationship is expressed through shared responsibility and effort. Care shows up through reliability, honesty, and having each other’s backs when the work gets hard. It’s not a “transactional relationship”. There are the work companions: The people you spend hours with solving problems, navigating pressure, making decisions. You may not talk about your entire life with them, but you trust their judgment, respect their character, and rely on them daily. The bond forms through shared responsibility and mutual competence. It’s not a “lesser friendship”. There are the seasonal companions: Friends who walked with you through a particular chapter of life. School, early career, ministry, a difficult season. Even if life has moved on, the relationship still carries weight because of what you went through together. It’s not a “failed friendship”. There are the check-in friends: Months can pass without speaking. Yet when you reconnect, the conversation flows easily, as if no time has passed. It’s not a “convenient friendship”. There are the daily orbit people: Neighbours, gym bros, my fav baristas ( hideout, cata, bingo haha), the caifan uncle, people you see regularly because your routines intersect. Over time these small interactions form a quiet sense of familiarity and care. It’s not a “shallow relationship”. There are the wisdom figures: People slightly ahead of you in life whose presence shapes how you think and grow. They may not fit the traditional category of friend, but their influence is deeply relational. It’s not just a “hierarchal relationship”. There are the shared-interest companions: People connected through a common love. Faith, sport, volunteering, creativity. The relationship revolves around that shared pursuit, and that is enough. It’s not a “surface level” friendship. And there are the quiet supporters: Not always the most visible voices in your life, but the ones who show up when it matters. It’s not a “distant friendship”. When we measure our lives against only one narrow model of friendship, it can make us feel like we are lacking. But the truth is, most people are already surrounded by a whole range of relationships. We just haven’t learned to recognise them yet.

“Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Job 38:4 I struggleeee with that question. Some days I watch the world in motion, the injustice, the hypocrisy, us posing instead of repenting and I’m so mad. Not cause I’m better, I’m worse, but I see so much at waste. And I just want… I want momentum. I want things to be more humble and fair. I want greater excellence. I want greater integrity to the mission. I want God to step in and make everything undeniably clear. I want Him to get all of this… shit together. Then that sentence from Job slices through the noise. “Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth?” Ugh. Honestly, I hate the response. I hate it cause I feel like it’s a poor answer to taking current present day responsibility of all that’s happening and to the rage, but still a very fair valid question from the almighty reminding me I’m a maggot in His universe. He reminds me I’m part of the story, not standing over it. I notice corruption and think, “This can’t keep going.” But God sees generations unfolding across centuries, threads I can’t even perceive. Ugh. I experience delay and label it silence. God names it patience. Ughhhhh. I crave resolution. But God is crafting redemption. Uggghhhhhhhh. If I’m being honest, some of my frustration boils down to this: “If I were in charge, I’d move quicker.” Though it’s fueled by the world I see daily, and how the ugly of this world is the result of abdication of responsibility from God’s people and tbh… God. But I’m reminded I’m a maggot just being mad…. And a maggot reeking with pride. “Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth?” Where Isaac, where. I wasn’t present when the seas were set in place. I didn’t suspend the stars in the sky. I didn’t write the first lines of history. And I’m not the one sustaining it now. That doesn’t shrink injustice. It doesn’t pardon hypocrisy. It doesn’t suggest we have no need for refining fire. It simply means I am not sovereign and much is beyond me. Scripture never guaranteed a flawless bride this side of glory. It promised endurance. Faithfulness. Perseverance. God has consistently worked through imperfect people in complicated, untidy seasons. Maybe the real tension isn’t that God is absent. Maybe it’s that I assumed He would move according to my timetable. Ok but.. haha. I’m annoyed. Sometimes I feel like I have to gaslight myself to keep me pleased with scripture and God. But ok, I will submit. Ugh. That question in Job bashes my perspective whether I like it or not. Not toward apathy or retreat, but scale. I can mourn. I can tell the truth. I can keep working with steady faith. I can be angry at injustice. I can grieve hypocrisy. I can long for more… But I must not confuse urgency with authority. I was not there at the foundation. And I am not responsible for holding the universe together now. Colossians 1:17: “He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.” Ugh but ok.

🇹🇭 “Isaac, the kids are memorizing English, not processing the language.” Another day, another wall to knock down. Our edutech programme, BrainBuddy, is working its way in the nations but learning habits of different communities and cultures differ and solutions must continue to be better contexualized. Every step forward is at times followed with 2 steps back. Fruitful frustrations. Our Colours team working along the borders of Thai Burma will soon be welcoming individuals who would like to go PRACTICE English with the kids so they get to better process the language with native speakers and give it greater meaning and depth. Work is working. :)

I adoreeeeeee Japan’s craftsmanship and care for work! I know it has its struggles with obsession and pressure…I’m not blind to that. But it is still deeepppply moving to watch a culture treat work like art. Like stewardship. Like something worth doing properly well even if it no one knows about it or celebrates you! What unsettles me back home is not that people don’t care about excellence. It’s that many of us have learned to shrink work into a transaction. A means to money. A stepping stone. Something to survive, not something to carry with dignity. And I get why. For many, work has been exhaustingggg Heavy. Entangled with identity, comparison and burnout. So we protect ourselves by calling it “just a job”. But sometimes, in protecting ourselves from work, we also quietly strip it of meaning. When I talk about loving craft and depth, I can feel the mad pressure to normalise. To soften it. To frame it carefully so I don’t sound intense, strange, or unhealthy haha As if caring deeply about how something is made must mean something is wrong with me. Travelling in Japan reminded me of something simple and important: Not everything that is disciplined is dehumanising. Not everything that is restrained is oppressive. Not everything that is quiet is empty. And maybe the harder truth for me is this. I don’t actually love work. I love meaningful labour. I love stewardship. I love doing something properly because it deserves to be done well. It does hurt, sometimes, to not feel at home in the culture you are part of. But maybe home is not where your values are most common… maybe home is where you get to contribute to the home. Idk. I guess.

I miss the days of the body of Christ where we were not powerful, influential or significant. In our weakness we displayed such strength, but now in our strength we are weak. I miss the days when the Church was persecuted, where there was more weeping than politicizing, more serving than image making, more love than righteous harassing. In our years of anger and disdain for society and secularism, if being oppressed, we’ve begun years of unleashing movements and work to sanitize and reclaim this earth, and while we may have started with a posture of helping and sharing truth in love, our new found power and stature, further reinforced by the new American Christian president, has made us too overbearing, forceful and arrogant (how we see those who don’t accept our values, behaviors and our Bible as “beneath us” “woke” “weak”) for our good, for the good of this earth, and the good of the Bible. I’ve spend enough time with Christians and in enough group chats of movements and prayer groups and have had enough pastor convos, and honestly the way we mock, laugh, joke at pre believers and their woke ideologies is embarrassing. There’s no deep love for them, more of a love for what they could become and their potential for them to come to know Christ. So when power came our true nature arose. We know how to love our own or those who agree with our beliefs. But those who don’t, and especially defiant to our beliefs, we wage wars or jokes. “But but they started it Isaac, they oppressed us… now that we’ve got new ground, new platforms, it’s time we turn it all around… we must hold the line and undo this madness, setup what is right, the right laws, policies, behaviors, systems…” Me: And at the expense of? “People.” And it sounds like biblical history playing itself out again. Pharisees. I’ve been watching Chosen and I’m beginning to see similarities… I see our modern day equivalents… lepers (who we mock, kick out and claim unclean, if not physically at least mentally, emotionally and relationally) sinners samaritans and also Pharisees… I know it’s going to cost a lot to be a disciple. But I’m happy to follow Him. And to be honest, I’m not worried about the sinners, just the religious.

I’ve finally walked into legitimate adult money at 37. Like I’ve got savings that make sense. Haha. And almost like clockwork, I’m at the crossroads of being presented a choice to throw it into works I’m just too passionate and burdened to ignore. This time it’s tech / ai. I made a bet in August 2025 with our first full-time team member and I’m about to make a move on our second team member come April 2026. To champion solutions thinking of the marginalized first rather than profit and financial maximization is why we need to exist in a sea that is chasing after a big payout. When you walk with the communities through our foundation, it’s hard to not think about them everyday and wonder, how can we truly uplift them. I’ve been nervous though I know what I must get to do. And walking into adult money means, making sure I remind myself that I do not own what I own but just project managing this bank, time, life and genuinely a nomad. So accumulation is not the end goal or 90% of life, but making it move to serve must be the consistent predominant daily rhythm. More than spending money, every time we hire, we don’t treat any of the team members as hired hands but as people we champion, serve and support. The people are the mission as much as the mission are the mission. And so carrying the weight, though I know is not mine solely to carry, of 16 folks going 17 is making sure I’ve got enough emergencies to protect them in the event our works and finances go south. Haha. It’s a lot. But I know what I get to do. I hope He sustains us. And if He doesn’t I’m happy to stop where He wants to stop and end what He wants to end. Colours is not a brand, it’s just a shell to do His will.

“Isaac, you were the first speaker I heard in church….I was 13 then… I’m now…31.” HAHA. 18 years. Damn. Never noticed the years and never considered this a …”ministry”. It was just an invitation that started when I was 20 and ive just been rolling with it since. It feels like just one of the things I just do, like running, like serving the poor, watching Netflix, going to work, singing… And maybe that’s why it’s been so enjoyable too. It’s so fulfilling to watch people learn about God, to witness how legit He is and His love is just so intentional, and I’ve enjoyed every second of it. I’ve absolutely adored watching God move, seeing people discover their walk with God and the lost finding the Way, the Truth and the Life. Not sure how long this hobby will last but happy to do it as long as He likes it. I’m glad I’ve given part of my life to speaking. It’s one of the better choices I’ve made in life. ♥️

Colours “Boot camp” We are about to enter our 5th year come 2026 as a social media studio, our third year as a foundation, and enter our first year as an ai agency and first year as a chapel. So I told the team it’s time for some important reminders, realignment and repairs. We are gonna spend the next few days to just sit together and align and also evaluate all of our work, our clients, our projects, our pillars, to see how we can sharpen, do our job better and serve better. As i prepared for it the last 3 days, reading, reflecting, researching, I found myself at His feet more times than on my laptop. At His feet needing him, at His feet grateful for Him, at His feet asking for healing, at His feet wanting His companionship. If you got some friendship with God, pray for us, for Colours. The work is really hard but necessary. A burden I’m happy to take on with Him. 🍻

“The Resistance” I met a history professor today who walked away from everything: wealth, status, comfort, because she refused to participate in a lie. Her country is ruled by the military. Many look away, play along, and call that a “life.” But she couldn’t. “History is truth,” she told me. “It teaches us what must never be repeated. And I will not be complicit in oppression.” So she left. From lecture halls and privilege, she now runs a small bamboo classroom for twenty children in a village across the border. No recognition. No prestige. Just truth… lived, not spoken. Most of us think resistance is loud and public. Protests. Speeches. Campaigns. But often the most radical form of resistance is refusing to participate in a lie, even if the lie promises safety, money, or applause. And that’s what moved me most. She didn’t just reject falsehood intellectually. She rearranged her entire life around what she knew to be true. That’s rare. And costly. And holy. It humbled me. She said no to a version of life that, while comfortable, wasn’t true. And it made me ask myself: What lies am I still participating in? What do I uphold because they serve my comfort? What pleasures keep me from living my convictions? Obedience often demands leaving behind what feels right for what is right. I’ve got so much more I need to leave behind. Maybe the most courageous thing we can do is to walk away from everything that’s false, even if it means starting over with nothing. Resistance. What a word.

God’s grace and love are furious. I look at some people I know. I look at the one in the mirror. And I know… God, only You can save us. Your grace is not fragile. It’s rugged enough to walk beside us. Your love is not thin. It’s strong enough to shepherd us. You don’t come only as a gentle presence. You come as a powerful force. Not just to comfort, but to deliver. And in the madness, when it feels like I have nothing left, I remember, I’ve got a Savior with an army, an arsenal, a whole kingdom at His back. And He is not just ready but He can save. Ask Him to. Trust the process… especially when it’s not yet the glorious end.

Big moves, Big God, baby faith. 🏃‍♂️🏃🏃‍♀️Off to the races to raise funds for Colours Foundation 2026. $520,904 🫦. Pls come for our fundraiser if you feel led! 🫂 the work is just taking root and I’m excited for the fruit that is to come in just the next 12 months. 🥶1 month in of our aircon business in hopes of creating dignified jobs in third world cities once we’ve got the Singapore base down. Slow start, but I’m pushing this baby outtttt. 🐣🐣🐣 🍻Making a personal bet on growth and also wanting the entire Colours team to do life better so we are collecting internal data to optimize workflow and eventually create greater autonomy of time and efficiencies when it comes to work. 🫡🫡 Making a new hire in Batam, having someone move over from Bali to Batam, and another hire from Chiangmai and have him move over to the borders for Thailand for the work of the foundation. They will be focusing on our edutech pillar. 😌 very cool. 🏠 finally found the courage to go search for a home again for myself. Hesitated cause it meant accepting a life I did not dream about as a kid but it is what it is, and after grieving, I went online, and the series of events have been just guided by God and I feel very… partnered. ⛪️ finally going to kick off some chapel sessions. There’s residue trauma, but I’ll find my healing as I walk this one out. I think I know what I’m doing, but I probably don’t too to some degree. Haha I’m making moves I don’t have enough leverage for, but have enough crazy and “but im just a nomad on this earth and this place is not my home” to decide to keep risking, laboring and surrendering. I just want to be faithful and do my best and make sure it matters to those who need it most. I’ve got battles and wrestles I need help with and pain that need healing but im watching Him do His thing with me and in me, as I limp through it all. “Keep me faithful to the end”

It has been five years since one of the most defining events of my life. Five years gone 🫠 And in that time, I have become someone else. Some things for the better, Most, if I am honest, not. Five years is long enough to reshape the soul. Long enough to lay foundations or to let rot set in. It is a window where things take root…habits, convictions, regrets, hopes. A window where you either build or you waste. But it is not just the soul that bends in five years. It is also the life around you. A business can be born. A project can move from blueprint to breakthrough. Friendships can be forged into lifelines or left to fade. In five years, one can master a craft, pioneer an idea, write a book, build a home, raise a child, or change the very direction of a community. Five years is enough time to construct something that outlives you or to drift so carelessly. It is long enough for the world to know what you stand for. And yet, short enough that if you blink, you will miss it. If life is eighty years, then I may have eight more of these windows left. Eight more chances to shape my soul, become more free, build what matters, risk on what is in my heart, and walk more closely with Him. Eight more cycles to choose. Hitting 37 soon and unlocking another 5. What will I dare to do with them? I want to do better (for Him and for me), but I’m not sure if I can. I will try nonetheless. Help would be needed, God. 🫠

The faster you learn to embrace and embody “nobody owes you anything”, the faster you’ll leeeaapppp through life and get to laugh a lot more. I just learnt it at 36, and not by noble choosing but by a series of unfortunate fortunate circumstances. I may be a slow learner but I’m always learning. 🐢-ing my way through life 😛♥️

The “loneliest”book I’ve read to date. Took me awhile to finish this book. I think part of it was me not wanting it to end. It’s hard to find books or go for meetings where you hear opinions or thought leadership that is not credible but truthful. Truth doesn’t care if it’s the only voice in the room, credibility often needs agreement and acceptance. It’s biggest bite? We need to be more self-aware of how we have allowed financial maximization (subconsciously or consciously) to be our true north and how we should all question it abit more before we make life/work/spiritual decisions and also what/who we celebrate. This book was esp timely for me. In the last 4 years of business I’ve continued to made decisions not allowing financial maximization to be my true north and it brought surprising profit. Surprising not because of the amount but surprising because it wasn’t my true north. But money has a shine that unknowingly can alter your course and cause you to align yourself to “create more wealth” or “keep more just incase”, which are not bad ideas, but misalignment if you know that was never meant to be how you were to build your life, see the world, steward your life, and make change possible. Picking up this book called me in just at the right point as I decided somehow to be abit more reserve in my impact / entrepreneurial endeavors and began just subconsciously thinking financial maximization. To be “more prudent and wise” with my money as I would tell myself, knowing that that is actually not my portion and how im suppose to be going at things. Uncomfortable. I’ve seen the strength of the dollar and how it can move mountains so to not have financial maximization at the top of mind feels like a step back, but I’m also aware there’s a deeper current and currency that He is trying to lead me on. Radical Generosity. People First. Uncomfortable. I’ve got a BookGod that builds my library and book angels that hands me books at just the perfect timing.
