Pada tanggal 28 Agustus 2025, ribuan buruh dan anggota serikat pekerja dari seluruh Indonesia melakukan unjuk rasa secara serentak. Aksi yang digelar di Jakarta dan berbagai kota besar ini menjadi penanda ketidakpuasan publik terhadap kebijakan pemerintahan Presiden Prabowo Subianto.
Para demonstran menuntut enam poin utama:
1. Penghapusan sistem outsourcing dan penolakan upah murah 2. Penghentian PHK dan pembentukan satuan tugas penanganan PHK 3. Reformasi perpajakan sektor ketenagakerjaan: - Penetapan PTKP Rp7,5 juta per bulan untuk buruh - Penghapusan pajak pesangon, THR, dan JHT - Penghapusan diskriminasi pajak terhadap perempuan menikah 4. Pengesahan RUU Ketenagakerjaan tanpa Omnibus Law 5. Pengesahan RUU Perampasan Aset untuk pemberantasan korupsi 6. Revisi RUU Pemilu untuk redesain sistem pemilu 2029Aksi yang berpusat di depan gedung DPR-RI ini justru direspons dengan kekerasan. Polisi menggunakan meriam air, gas air mata, dan kendaraan Barracuda untuk membubarkan massa. Aparat melakukan pengejaran dengan menggunakan kekuatan dan senjata api secara berlebihan dan tidak proporsional. Puncaknya, kendaraan lapis baja yang dikemudikan oleh polisi secara sembrono dan menerobos kerumunan hingga mengakibatkan satu orang meninggal dunia. Peristiwa ini membuktikan bahwa kita tengah berada dalam situasi darurat kemanusiaan. Aparat yang seharusnya berfungsi sebagai pelindung masyarakat, justru berubah menjadi ancaman. Kebebasan berekspresi, berserikat, dan berkumpul secara damai merupakan hak konstitusional yang dijamin UUD 1945. Setiap bentuk kekerasan terhadap hak-hak tersebut merupakan pelanggaran HAM berat yang tidak dapat ditoleransi. Setiap warga negara berhak memperjuangkan kehidupan yang layak. Kami mendorong seluruh Timmies untuk terus bersuara dan tidak diam membisu. Ingatlah bahwa setiap bentuk perlawanan, sekecil apa pun adalah perlawanan.
