This year, technologies such as JavaScript (used by 62.3% of developers) and PostgreSQL (used by 49% of developers) remain most popular, while Rust (83% admiration score) and Markdown remain most admired. Developers are most frustrated by technical debt at work, and they don't see AI as a threat to their jobs. Themes we see in this year's survey results show us that developers are not threatened by AI, with 72% holding a favorable view of AI tools, although this is a slight decrease from 77% last year. However, ethical concerns remain prominent, with misinformation in AI results being the top issue (79.4%), followed by worries about source attribution (64.7%). On the topic of AI, 76% of respondents shared they are using or planning to use AI tools, but only 43% said they trust the accuracy of AI tools and 45% believe AI tools struggle to handle complex tasks. The top benefits of AI tools are increasing productivity (81%) and speeding up learning (62.4%). In terms of work environment, hybrid work continues to be popular, with 42% of developers working in a hybrid model.
