UNRWA Commissioner-General a.i. @CFSaundersUN welcomes the strong political support expressed by Member States at yesterday’s Pledging Conference for UNRWA’s vital work providing humanitarian assistance and essential public services to millions of Palestine Refugees.
New funding amounting to USD 4 million was pledged during the conference, primarily for the emergency appeals. While UNRWA is very grateful for all contributions made in support of Palestine Refugees, the amounts received yesterday unfortunately do not significantly reduce the cashflow deficit of USD 100 million for 2026.
It is hoped that in the coming months, Member States will provide funding commensurate with the political support shown towards the work of the Agency. This is vital if UNRWA is to continue fulfilling its General Assembly mandate to protect and assist Palestine Refugees.

أكدت وزارة الخارجية والمغتربين لدولة فلسطين أهمية دور منظمة الأمم المتحدة لإغاثة وتشغيل اللاجئين "الاونروا" في حماية وإغاثة اللاجئين الفلسطينيين، وفي التعليم والرعاية الصحية والحماية الاجتماعية والمساعدة الطارئة بما يعزز اعتماد اللاجئين على أنفسهم والحفاظ على كرامتهم في أماكن تواجدهم كافة، بما في ذلك قطاع غزة، وسائر الارض الفلسطينية المحتلة بما فيها القدس الشرقية، وفي مخيمات اللجوء في دول الجوار المضيفة.
وأشارت الخارجية، إلى أن الاونروا تأسست بقرار دولي وبولاية واضحة، وان عملها مرحب به في دولة فلسطين، ودعتها لاستكمال اعمالها في الأرض الفلسطينية، باعتبارها شريان حياة، وغير قابلة للاستبدال، وعامل استقرار.
وعبرت وزارة الخارجية عن رفضها لأي تصريحات للانتقاص من دور الاونروا دون إنهاء جذور المعاناة التي يتعرض لها اللاجئون الفلسطينيون والشعب الفلسطيني، المتمثلة في انهاء الاحتلال الاستعماري الإسرائيلي طويل الأمد، وتحقيق الحقوق غير القابلة للتصرف وعلى رأسها حقوق اللاجئين استنادا للقرار 194.
كما رفضت الخارجية كل المصطلحات التي تحاول تفتيت الجغرافيا والديمغرافيا الفلسطينية، كمصطلح "غزة الجديدة" التي تحاول عزل قطاع غزة عن فضائه الطبيعي، أو مصطلح "شعب غزة" مشددة على أن الشعب الفلسطيني شعب واحد في قطاع غزة والضفة الغربية، بما فيها القدس، والشتات وفي كافة أماكن تواجده، وان قطاع غزة جزء لا يتجزأ من أرض دولة فلسطين المحتلة.
وفي الوقت نفسه، ذكّرت بأن دولة فلسطين قد رحبت بخطة الرئيس ترامب وقرار مجلس الأمن رقم 2803، كما رحبت بإنشاء اللجنة الادارية الفلسطينية الانتقالية التي تنسق أعمالها مع السيد ملادينوف ومكتب الارتباط للحكومة الفلسطينية.
وشددت الخارجية على أن الحقوق لا يمكن استبدالها بالمساعدات الإنسانية، وان السيادة والولاية على الأرض الفلسطينية المحتلة بما فيها القدس الشرقية هي للشعب الفلسطيني، وقيادته، مثمنة الدعم الدولي الثابت للأونروا ولولايتها المتجددة ريثما يتم التوصل إلى حل عادل ودائم لقضية اللاجئين الفلسطينيين، بما يتماشى مع القانون الدولي وقرارات الأمم المتحدة ذات الصلة.
ودعت الخارجية جميع الدول والمؤسسات والكيانات لاحترام ولاية الاونروا وامتيازاتها وحصاناتها بموجب اتفاقية امتيازات وحصانات الأمم المتحدة التي تنص على وجوب حماية الأونروا من قبل الدول الأعضاء في الأمم المتحدة، واحترام حرمة مبانيها بما في ذلك في الأرض الفلسطينية المحتلة.

| 20 | RT @btselem: The extensive killing of Palestinian children and teenagers in the West Bank is not a series of isolated incidents. It is a practice backed by every arm of the Israeli regime.
From 7 October 2023 to 29 June 2026, Israel killed 1,087 Palestinians in the West Bank, including 242 children and teenagers.
In 2025 alone, 54 minors were killed. Our new report, “Unshielded Childhood,” tells their stories.
The Israeli legal system helps whitewash these killings, grants impunity to the perpetrators, and shirks its duty to demand accountability from those responsible. The Israeli public remains largely indifferent, while some segments openly support the violence.
To legitimize this routine killing in the eyes of the Israeli public and the world, Israel systematically dehumanizes Palestinians. When the military almost automatically labels Palestinian children and teenagers who posed no threat as “terrorists” or “involved in terrorism,” it creates a reality in which their lives are treated as entirely disposable and harming them is seen as legitimate and permissible.
While the world looks away and grants Israel international impunity, the reality on the ground is clear: under the Israeli regime, no Palestinian is protected, and any Israeli who harms them enjoys full impunity.
