To be honest, I confused these modal verbs a lot in the past. Even though they are commonly used to express possibility, they are not actually interchangeable. Let me clarify it: “May” can be used to talk about a possibility that is LIKELY to happen in the future. So if I write: • A miracle may save us! I believe that a miracle can save us! So, it's possible! However, “Might” can be used to talk about a possibility that is NOT LIKELY to happen in the future. And if I write: • A miracle might save us. I mean that, theoretically, there is a chance of a miracle, but I’m skeptical about it. P.S. don’t write MAY and MIGHT wherever you want in your IELTS essays.

Which means starting with and ending with is not a good way to write and overview. The writer here gives only two stages here you should mention all the stages if you are going to mention the names of the stages.
