Stark's official hackathon is the first official hackathon provided by the teams behind Stark and Voxide. It is created to help the beautiful and very supportive community that has already been built, to help competitors showcase their skills and promote themselves, and to support our locally made products and give them the recognition they deserve. This Stark Hackathon is also a token of gratitude to all the users of Stark.et who have been continuously supportive and active on the platform. It's also an opportunity to promote the continuous shipping and building that the community has been doing so far. The hackathon is going to be held online on STARK CONTESTS, with a chance to spend the last day (announcement day) in person. On the announcement day, the first half of the day will be dedicated to finalizing your projects, meeting other contenders, and getting ready to present. I spent the last few weeks trying to answer one question with actual data: can you make money off of sports betting? So I simulated 22,900 bets. $100 flat stakes at real closing odds, 6 leagues, 5 seasons, 12 betting strategies, plus 2 real statistical models I built and trained with zero hindsight. The result: −$191,545. Every league lost. Both models lost everywhere. Not a single rule that worked in one league survived the other five.
