Reading Comprehension on the SAT The most important thing for the Reading section of the test is understanding the text. Here are some tips: 1) Read two articles daily. Here you can find articles on a variety of topics and they are prepared for SAT learners. In pdf, you can find new words in every article as well. 2) Read Difficult books. About 20 pages daily. Search for every word you don't know and memorize them. 3) Complete Erica's Reading for Digital SAT book. 4) Learn vocabulary. You might need to learn the words that you might see on the test. The most important ones are Panda 400; Ivy Global 500; Murodiy 195. Additionally, there are some Vocabs if you want to increase your Reading Score faster: 700 by Power Score, 700 by Katya. And I'll send a 1000-word list as well. You might say that's a lot. no, that's not. Most of the words are just repeated. At first, I was confused that I read two opinions for boosting my Reading Score. The first one was to only read articles and books and this will help your reading comprehension and score. The second view was you need to practice a lot and learn vocab as much as you can. You can take your reading to another level in this way. I was doing both until I read this post. Then, I only did a practice test. I lost my comprehension and got many questions wrong (the reason I got the questions wrong might be I was doing practice with third-party companies' tests)* That time I said to myself I need to do something that helped me. I asked Parviz who scored 770 in EBRW (I joined his course as well). He recommended reading a book called Why Nations Fail?. Then I regained my comprehension. *Here is my view about third-party companies' practice tests.

SAT Writing Section Plan Writing is easier than reading questions and takes less time to conquer it. It's just learning rules and applying them to questions. However, in the Digital SAT, you might face up with a bit of challenging questions. First thing first, to start basics about SAT writing you can choose between Panda Writing and Erica's Writing book. Both of them are the same. I went with Panda and thought I could continue with Erica, but I got bored with the same content and didn't complete Erica's. I would suggest you grab Erica's because this is totally for Digital. What is next? After completing one of these books, you should practice a lot with Khan Academy. Practice is the key to the SAT. In Khan Academy, you see three levels of questions: foundation, medium, and advanced. Advanced ones are more difficult, to interpret those questions you need better comprehension. Making the Plan for the SAT Math We already know our current score and now we need exact things to do in our prep journey. First I start with math. I use examples from my own experience. I had a good foundation for math. A year ago I got 630 on SAT math. Before that, I studied merely for the DTM (national exam). Even at school, I had a bit good understanding of math. Well, what I did for math. I had 520 on the math section when I took practice. I started with Panda Math which covers almost all the topics. After finishing this book, I finished Dr. Chung's Tips for Math. I didn't do practice because of a different style from the College Board. Lastly, I finished all the Philadelphia classified questions. After all, I had enough knowledge about SAT question types. I solved 3-5 paper-based SAT math till I got 770. I just focused on English, I'll tell you about it in the next post. Once I take practice again near to my exam. I got 790 and 780. Before hitting this I got 680. How I could increase my score without prep? I watched 18 video lessons about Desmos on YouTube. Then, I realized that Desmos is a great tool. I'll send you all the sources. Starting preparation for the SAT First of all you need to know your scores. Before going somewhere, you should know your current position. Then you can have exact a plan. How to check your current SAT score? There are 2 ways to do this: 1) If you have laptop, install the Bluebook app on your computer, then do Practice test 1. 2) If you don't have laptop or PC, you can take the test on paper. Click here to get 4 linear practice tests. I recommend you to go with first one. In this way you'll see exact same thing that you experience on test day. Before taking your first practice test be familiar with Bluebook and test timing. After completing practice test, you'll immediately see your score if you take it on Bluebook. However, you have to calculate it yourself, if you do linear one. At the end, you can choose to review the test or just leave it. I went with latter. Why? After 2 months I just forgot this practice test and did again. If you review it, you can take it again, but this might won't be your exact score. Just advice from my experience today Try to bring the device which has good internet connection function. Otherwise you might have problems while starting the test as I had. I lamented that I bought new but one the low quality laptop. I thought it is good enough. Here's full story. I had problem with internet connection with my device, so I went another room which is near to the WIFI. As the result, I started the test 7-10 min later. Everything was going well until others completed English section. At that time I had 8 questions remaining. However, I was interrupted by others and lost my focus. At the end, I guessed almost all of the 8 questions.

Must Read till the end Important Remainder Practice tests in Third-party companies such as Princeton, Barron's, Vibrant, etc. are not the same as you'll encounter on the test day. So, be careful. Hence, I refused to practice with them in order not to confuse myself with the wrong question style. I already know what the College Board asks. However, the questions in many third-party practice tests aren't asking these things. Moreover, third-party practice tests are harder than real ones. I'm not saying that you shouldn't use them at all, instead warning you before the test. You can use them if your test is not around the corner. To sum up, you need to understand what the College Board asks you on the SAT. Then you can solve questions easily. Now, if you use third-party questions before your test is not a good idea because of their wrong style. I recommend you practice with only Khan Academy and Bluebook. In this way, you can get used to the SAT style and will do easily on the exam.

SAT vocabs aren't just words that you encounter on the SAT. Those are the most frequent words in English, however, high-level words. Learning these words helps you to interpret better other contexts as well. Moreover, it helps boost to your overall understanding (comprehension)

If you're struggling while registering for the SAT, use a VPN. In most cases, it just stops at the payment, sometimes they might get money but you'll end up not registering if you don't use VPN. So, you can prevent any issues by using a VPN. Don't worry, College Board will return if the case above happens.

🧑‍🎓How to improve your SAT reading score? ❌The reading section of the SAT is usually avoided by exam takers until the last moment. Having realized that this part of the test is more difficult to progress through, candidates tend to not practice it, with the idea in mind that if they spend time on writing and math instead, they can increase their overall score by a greater margin. Therefore, their reading scores are stuck somewhere at 250 out of 400. 👨‍💻To remedy it, they have to practice MORE. The reason I capitalized the word more is not because they have to do millions of practice tests, but because this more means different things to different people. Our brains are structured differently, and thus their capacities vary greatly. For a guy who works full-time and studies SAT on the side, more means 1 practice test a week. For a teenager who only focuses on the SAT, it is 3-4 practice tests a week. So, identify your more and stick to it. 🤫We haven't solved the problem yet: there is a difference between practice and practice. It might sound ironic, but it is true. When I say practice, someone might think about doing 54 out of 54 questions, getting the results, and looking at the number of mistakes they made. Right? 👎Wrong. You shouldn't do that. The ideal way (very subjective) of doing a practice test is to do it once under the exam conditions and then analyzing it. How to analyze?🤔 You redo all the questions that you guessed or messed up without a time limit but with your dictionary so that you can jot down all the new words you get. Having understood every single mistake you made, you transition to the rest of the test where you would pick new words (even from the question you didn't have a problem with and got correct answers). Then you learn the new words. There are a lot of methods of vocabulary memorization. And you have to pick the one that works with you. Is that it?🥳 🤬Nope. You should work on your weak points, afterwards. This part is very crucial but mainly neglected. Having analyzed your practice test, you reflect on it by figuring out your weak points (the question types you make a mistake on regularly). Once you spot them, you go back to the books like Erica Meltzer, Panda, and the black book or education websites like Khan Academy to review the corresponding chapters and doing some exercises on those question types. See those books as the references you get back to every time you make a mistake. So here is the rough formula: 1️⃣Practice 2️⃣Analyze 3️⃣Work on weak points 4️⃣Repeat 📌Yes, repeat. Your score isn't going to grow overnight. As the saying goes, good things take time.
