A RogueNews Post That’s what the quick and brutal statements often do. They point and sputter and deflate by algocowboy

A RogueNews Post I have also found that these people are really just zealots and no amount of real data or information can break through their berserker level belief. "In order to commit atrocities you must first believe absurdities" - Voltaire. by logisticaldomain21

A RogueNews Post Reality doesn’t matter to the more zealotrous of these people There are some who will listen and some who won’t I tend to keep such conversations very short with the core fact being the first and often only thing I say “Most of EV energy comes from coal and natural gas plants and the grid can’t handle EV adoption.” If they have anything to say, I let them wind down and then just repeat the exact same sentence. A RogueNews Post This is where they go blank. The do static analysis and think "EVs are great for the environment" without considering how to charge them without collapsing existing infrastructure. Does anyone think these Green enthusiasts even considered the added costs of upgrading infrastructure in their estimates of the efficiency and actual costs of "Green"? by logisticaldomain21

A RogueNews Post I have had this very conversation with many "Green Energy/EV" advocates. As they go on and on about all the "benefits" of EVs, for instance, I then point that if just a few percent of a given neighborhood's residents purchased and began EVs the grid in those areas would collapse due to the increased KWH load on transformers/electrical substations/high voltage transmissions lines. by logisticaldomain21

A RogueNews Post I am a huge fan of the Monty Python style of the Head First Java books. It strikes me if you can develop a webpage with something like either Bootstrap or Webflow and a backend with JSPs/Servlets you can build the most cool full stack apps. My problem is finding somewhere who would need my skills. The whole OO paradigm is elegant isn't it? I'm not so keen on the Lambda style though. by wokefinder
