JioCinema uses two different cloud providers that include Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). 🔣𝙇𝙤𝙖𝙙 𝙗𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙧: JioCinema uses load balancers to distribute the user traffic among multiple backend servers that ensures efficiency and no server is overloaded. 🔣𝘼𝙪𝙩𝙤𝙨𝙘𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙜𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙥𝙨: These are implemented in such a way that if the current servers are being overloaded then new servers can be created automatically using autoscaling groups. 🔣𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝘿𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙉𝙚𝙩𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠 (𝘾𝘿𝙉𝙨): JioCinema uses CDNs to distribute content to its users. CDNs are distributed systems of servers that cache and deliver content to users from the closest possible edge locations. This helps to reduce latency and improves user experience. 🔣𝙈𝙞𝙘𝙧𝙤𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝙖𝙧𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙩𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚: This approach breaks down the application into smaller and manageable components and becomes easier for scalability and maintenance. Any specific component can be scaled up or down without affecting other components. 𝙋𝙎: In this post I have only discussed how JioCinema handles such loads efficiently irrespective of how it is coded and what protocols they are using. 😎 𝗙𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 @prodevopsguy 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗱 & 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗢𝗽𝘀!!! // Join for DevOps DOCs: @devopsdocs

DevOps Metrics are crucial! 😀 Each stage has metrics that are vital for the success of the DevOps. Plan 📝: This stage focuses on metrics to ensure we have a solid plan in place, guiding us with user story prioritization, estimation, team velocity, resource allocation, and more! Code 🖥: Metrics related to this help us deliver code in a standardized way, improving quality, effectiveness, speed, reliability, and more! Build 🛠️: Monitor the build process to enhance the efficiency of running builds more frequently and reliably. Test 🧪: Testing metrics help us improve the quality of the product ⭐️ Release & Deploy 🚀: Helps us refine the product deployment and release process to minimize surprises. Operate ⚙️: Gather customer feedback and manage incidents based on metrics 📉 Monitor 📈: Leverage metrics to enhance the overall system and drive customer success ⭐️ 😎 𝗙𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 @prodevopsguy 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗱 & 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗢𝗽𝘀!!! // Join for DevOps DOCs: @devopsdocs

🐬 Docker Networking: When Containers Talk: Decoding the Secret Language of Docker Networking. 🔢: Bridge (Default): ➡️ The default, isolated network where containers get unique IP addresses and can communicate with other containers on the same host. ➡️Use Cases: ➡️ Ideal for most containerized applications that need network isolation and communication within the host. ➡️ Well-suited for development, testing, and staging environments. 🔢: None: ➡️ Disables networking entirely, isolating the container from any network. ➡️Use Cases: ➡️ Niche use cases where no network access is required (e.g., headless tasks, security-sensitive processes). ➡️ Not recommended for general-purpose container usage. 🔢: Host: ➡️ Shares the host's network namespace, allowing containers to directly use the host's IP address and ports. ➡️Use Cases: ➡️ Exposing container services to the host's network without complex port mappings. ➡️ Useful for testing and development, but exercise caution due to potential security risks in production. 🔢: Overlay: ➡️ Description: Creates a virtual network across multiple Docker hosts, enabling container communication regardless of their physical location. ➡️Use Cases: ➡️ Orchestrated deployments with Docker Swarm or Kubernetes where containers need to communicate across hosts. ➡️ Highly scalable network for distributed applications. 😎 𝗙𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 @prodevopsguy 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗱 & 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗢𝗽𝘀!!! // Join for DevOps DOCs: @devopsdocs

Are you optimizing your kubernetes workloads for efficiency? One key aspect is controlling resource usage within pods to ensure optimal performance and resources utilization. 🔍 Resource Requests: ➖ Specify minimum CPU and memory requirements for pods. ➖ Helps Kubernetes scheduler make informed placement decisions. ➖ Ensures pods have necessary resources to run effectively. 📈 Resource Limits: ➖ Set upper bounds on CPU and memory usage. ➖ Prevents pods from monopolizing resources. ➖ Maintains stability and reliability across the cluster. 😎 𝗙𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 @prodevopsguy 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗱 & 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗢𝗽𝘀!!! // Join for DevOps DOCs: @devopsdocs

🐬 Excited to share my insights on Docker and system design! 👩‍🚀 Have you ever wondered how Docker works behind the scenes? Let's dive into its architecture to uncover the magic! 🔹 Docker Client: Imagine this as your gateway to the Docker world. It's like having a personal assistant who takes your commands and communicates them to the next key player. 🔹 Docker Host: This is where the real action happens. The Docker daemon, like a master chef, manages everything from images (the recipes) to containers (the dishes) with precision. 🔹 Docker Registry: Think of this as your recipe book library. Docker Registry stores all the images, just like Docker Hub, where you can find a plethora of ready-to-use images.
Understanding Docker's architecture is crucial for anyone diving into system design or coding. It's like having a superpower to efficiently manage and deploy your applications!
