We had Quran Gathering today and touched on hadith of intention. among the sisters we discussed struggle of swaying sincerity in our intents and actions. So here is a lil post session lingering thoughts. Since intention lives in the a lil flesh but most important flesh, the heart, we must examine the heart and purify it. What comes out of it reflects the state of it. Sh Hamza Yusuf translated a book on tasawwuf called "Tasfiyah Qulub" and did a reading of it in a gathering. He said in his lectures "The highest maqam one can reach (in the process of purifying your heart) is mahabbah - love. The ones whose heart full of mahabbah for Allah find living difficult but death becomes greatest pleasure - because he gets to meet his lover." with great love: - obedience becomes easy - ⁠heart is sincere - ⁠being alone is not lonely - ⁠it becomes one desire to reciprocate Allah's goodness - so he becomes motivated to try and do more good - ⁠love will makes one willing to struggle 📸: snippets from my notes
