There has been a bombardment of Prelims courses in the past few days, with every Institute coming out with one. There was a time when it was suggested that we give 90 days to prelims specifically and be done with it. If you listen to toppers like Shubham Kumar, AIR 1 (2020), he recommends that you go full throttle in the last 50 days if you are really good with it. For 2023, the Coaching Wallahs argued that given the unpredictability of prelims, give it at least 120 days to ensure success. That is understandable, given that the Prelims pattern has evolved. Then came the 2023 shocker, the toughest of all prelims. For 2024 attempt then, they played on this FOMO. Because it’s so tough now, allocate at least 150 days. You must begin your Pre preparations in January. Then come this year. It’s November, and they have already started creating fear. Start preparing for prelims now, and we will take care of the mains in those 90 days after you clear prelims. Really? Bhagwan se to daro kamsekam. They are playing with the lives of 1000s who put their trust in these mentors and teachers. They will earn their huge bank balances and leave. It’s you who will suffer. Please don’t fall into this trap. Clearing Prelims is not the end goal; clearing the exam is. And honestly, it’s impossible to clear mains only with those 90 days of preparation.

Go for prelims in January, but before that, focus on Mains. It’s your life, and you are responsible for your actions at this age. So be wise, and choose wisely. Else it’s only you and your family who will suffer.
