Here is an interesting topic of discussion today.. 𝐒𝐎𝐋𝐈𝐃 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐬 ! Read through it and share your understanding/insights/experience/examples 🙌
𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐞 (𝐒𝐑𝐏): A class should only have one reason to change. This means that each class should be focused on a single task and do it well.
𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧/𝐂𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐞 (𝐎𝐂𝐏): Software should be open for extension, but closed for modification. This means that we should be able to add new features to our software without having to change existing code.
𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐞 (𝐈𝐒𝐏): Client classes should not be forced to depend on interfaces that they don't use. This means that we should create specialised interfaces for each client, so that they only have to depend on the methods that they need.
𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐞 (𝐃𝐈𝐏): High-level modules should not depend on low-level modules. Both should depend on abstractions. This means that we should decouple our code so that the high-level modules don't have to know about the details of the low-level modules.
𝐋𝐢𝐬𝐤𝐨𝐯 𝐒𝐮𝐛𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐞 (𝐋𝐒𝐏): Subtypes should be substitutable for their base types without breaking the program. This means that we should be able to use a subclass in place of its parent class without causing any problems.
SOLID principles are important because they help us to write code that is more maintainable, scalable, and adaptable. Code that follows SOLID principles is easier to add new features to, fix bugs in, and test. It is also less likely to break when we make changes to it.

𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐧 Deployment 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐞𝐬, 𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬:
1. 𝐀𝐥𝐥-𝐚𝐭-𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭:
Pros: Simple and quick to implement.
Cons: High risk of significant downtime and potential for major disruptions if issues arise.
Best suited for: Low-risk, non-critical applications with extensive testing.
2. 𝐑𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭:
Pros: Minimizes downtime by gradually introducing the new version to users.
Cons: May take longer to complete the update.
Best suited for: Applications where downtime is a concern but not catastrophic.
3. 𝐁𝐥𝐮𝐞/𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭:
Pros: Minimizes downtime and offers a rollback option by switching back to the previous environment.
Cons: Requires double the resources for the duplicate environment.
Best suited for: Critical applications where downtime is unacceptable.
4. 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭:
Pros: Lowers risk by releasing the new version to a small subset of users first, allowing for early detection of issues.
Cons: May not catch all issues that could arise with a larger user base.
Best suited for: Applications with frequent updates or high uncertainty about new versions.
5. 𝐀/𝐁 𝐓𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠:
Pros: Helps you choose the best performing version by testing different versions with a limited audience.
Cons: Not strictly a deployment strategy, but can be useful before rolling out a new version.
Best suited for: Testing new features or user interface changes.

API Gateway, Load Balancer, and Reverse Proxy are essential technologies that work together to make our online experiences smooth and secure.
An API Gateway serves as a gatekeeper for APIs and manages access, usage, and integration between them.
A Load Balancer distributes traffic across multiple servers to ensure websites run smoothly, while a Reverse Proxy protects them from attacks and improves performance.
By using all three technologies, businesses can create a strong infrastructure for web applications. For instance, API Gateway can manage and secure APIs, Load Balancer can distribute traffic, and Reverse Proxy can add additional security and performance features.
