Which of these countries does not yet have a local Bitcoin ETF?

📈 Record inflows to Bitcoin ETFs 💯 US spot Bitcoin ETFs received $887 million yesterday. One-day inflows have only been higher once, when $1.04 billion was invested on March 12. Together with the expectation of a rate cut in the US this year and the future listing of ether ETFs, this factor contributed to the bitcoin price rising to $71,000.

🇦🇺 Bitcoin ETF release in Australia 🧑‍⚖️This week in Australia, Monochrome Asset Management launched the country's third Bitcoin ETF. Unlike the two previous ETFs, this one is directly pegged to BTC.

📝 Crypto regulation updates 💬 The future of federal cryptocurrency law in the US is still not clear. Crypto enthusiasts are waiting for the Senate to finally approve the pending legislation, along with Congressman Patrick McHenry who also urged the Senate to pass it before the US Presidential election. He promised to do everything possible to put pressure on the Senate to speed up consideration of the law. However, it is still not clear when the Senate will vote on the matter. 🇳🇬 Nigeria will probably cancel restrictions on cryptocurrency trading after the resignation of the previous Central Bank governor. The Senate Finance Committee has called for the swift passage of legislation regulating this segment of the economy. 🧮 Overall, there has been little good or bad news this week, and the market continues to move sideways. At the same time, the inflow of funds into US spot Bitcoin ETFs continues with more than $100 million invested in the first 4 days of this week, according to Farside Investors.

🇺🇸 SEC approves ETH ETF and BTC ETF has great inflow 🧑‍⚖️ The political and lobbying factor likely played a role in the change in the SEC's position - about 2/3 of Congress is in favor of limiting the SEC's authority over the crypto market. Unlike the Bitcoin ETF, the approval was not provided by a vote of five commissioners, but by its Division of Trading and Markets. However, ETH ETFs still need a separate SEC approval on Form S-1 to start trading. 📊 Despite the approval of the ETH ETF, the market has started falling, with BTC below $67,000. At the same time, US spot Bitcoin ETFs looked good this week with more than $800 million in total inflows for 4 days of the week. Let's see how that changes on Friday.

The SEC has officially approved #ETHETF ⚡️ ⚡️⚡️

🇺🇸Crypto Bill has passed Congress ❤️‍🔥 The US House has approved the first federal law regulating cryptocurrencies in the history of the United States! It was supported by 279 congressmen. Only 133 Democrats and 3 Republicans voted against. The top nation takes new steps in favor of crypto faster than expected. 🔗 The bill got bipartisan support (almost half the Democrats and all Republicans) and has good chances to get approval from the Senate. Previously, the Senate approved a resolution cancelling the SEC Bulletin about storage of crypto assets - that resolution was approved in Congress with support from only 21 Democrats, but in the Senate, it had 60 votes against 38. ⚖️ In short, the law will definitely, perhaps with some edits, be passed by the Senate. The only question is whether President Biden will veto it. He has already supported the SEC’s chair, Gary Gensler, and criticised new legislation. However, Biden didn’t say anything about the possibility of a veto, so it's likely he won't take action.

🇺🇸 US Congress will vote on crypto bill by the end of May 📝 According to Politico, the Financial Innovation and Technology for the 21st Century Act may be supported not only by Republicans, but also by some Democrats. This information is based on internal Democratic Party correspondence. However, another act which bans CBDC will probably be rejected by Democrats. 🔮 It is likely that the Financial Innovation and Technology for the 21st Century Act will be passed by Congress, and then everything will depend on the decision of the US Senate and President Biden.

❤️❤️❤️Bitcoin - $70,000. Ethereum $3,500. 📢 SEC asked NYSE and other stock exchange to update Ethereum ETH filings. Probably this means that VanEck and other applications will be approved.

🚀 Bitcoin $68,000

💪 Record inflows into Bitcoin ETFs 📊 This week was the first since March to see a large influx of money into American spot Bitcoin ETFs. According to Farside investors, $948.3 million was invested. In March, we had greater weekly numbers - about $1 billion, $2.2 billion and $2.5 billion - but, after negative weeks in April and the first half of May, this is positive news. 🇺🇸 On the other hand, this inflow comes based on rate cut expectations, which may not materialise. Moreover, on May 23rd it is very likely that the SEC will reject VanEck's application for an Ethereum ETF. So it’s quite possible that next week's numbers will be rather negative.

The US Senate has passed a resolution against the SEC 🗽 Senators voted 60-38 to cancel the SEC resolution requiring companies holding cryptocurrencies for clients to list them on their balance sheets. 📊 Also this week, Bitcoin ETFs had a large inflow of about $726 million, excluding Friday.

🔝 Bitcoin $65,000 🚀 US CPI Index is 0,1% lower in April than expected. Stocks and crypto going 🔝.

🇹🇷 Türkiye will adopt new crypto bill and startup visa for nomads ☪️ Türkiye is a popular choice for digital nomads and has a high level of crypto adoption - at least 14 million crypto hodlers - about 16% among 85 million population. It’s one of the largest crypto markets in the world. The country wants to engage digital nomads and is creating new types of visas for them, recently introducing a startup visa and a digital nomad visa. ⚖️ A new crypto bill was announced by the local Finance Minister in January 2024. Although it’s not presented to the public, this law contains clear regulation for cryptocurrencies, including AML and licensing of crypto exchanges by the local regulator, Capital Markets Board (CMB). Insiders expect the law to be introduced into parliament in the near future. 🤷 It is not yet clear how foreign crypto exchanges will operate in Türkiye and there is an important topic outstanding for immigration visas and crypto regulation: taxation. Progressive personal income tax in Türkiye has a scale between 15% and 40%. We will see how this rate will apply to crypto users and to digital nomads.

Crypto Regulation Weekly Digest 🇦🇪 Dubai is attracting crypto entities. Crypto fund QCP Capital and blockchain firm Chainalysis are now officially represented there. 🇬🇧 Revolut will launch a regulated cryptoexchange in the UK. 🇳🇬 Nigeria will ban p2p trading in the country. Local SEC is preparing regulations for this initiative. This is probably the result of high inflation and a falling naira exchange rate. Previously Binance accused the Nigerian government of extorting $150 million in bribes. 🇰🇷 South Korea's Democratic Party promised to legalize Bitcoin ETFs. Meanwhile, crypto still isn't a legal payment method for donations in the country. 🇭🇰 Hong Kong's regulator HKMA has launched a working group on asset tokenization. Local invest funds predict that Hong Kong crypto ETFs will become available to qualified investors in mainland China soon. 🇨🇴 A major Colombian bank is launching a cryptoexchange and a stablecoin pegged to the Colombian peso in Bermuda. 🇹🇷 Turkey will adopt a crypto law in 2024. 👤 The Monero trading platform Local Monero was shut down amid growing regulators' pressure on anonymous currencies.

🇺🇸 Cryptocurrency regulation in the US: latest news 🦅 Trump promised to do everything to keep crypto investors and companies in the country. He also will accept donations in crypto for his presidential campaign. 🗽 Congress has passed a resolution limiting the SEC's oversight of the crypto market. Biden threatens to veto the resolution. ⏳ The SEC (as expected) has postponed its decision on Invesco's Ethereum ETF. This is the eighth deferred filing. The first decision (yes or no) on the VanEck Ethereum ETF application is due on May 23 . 👿 Gensler gave an interview to CNBC and said that he is bored of crypto. Perhaps this position is related to the fact that Congress passed a resolution limiting the SEC's authority. 🔮 My prediction: despite any statements about new regulation in the US, legislators are now too busy with elections. That’s why all crypto-related laws, like the Financial Innovation Act and stablecoin bill will only be approved next year.

🇰🇷 South Korea may approve Bitcoin ETF in 2024 The Democratic Party of Korea is going to make the following request to local regulator - Financial Services Commission (FSC).

🤫 Waiting for the bull market again… 📈 This week the crypto market has recovered: BTC $63,600, ETH $3,100, TON $5.70. And this is despite the fact that the overall US Bitcoin ETFs had total weekly outflows amounting to $433 million - apparently not everyone had time to enter the ETFs on Friday. 🙅 Most analysts provide bullish forecasts, but whether they will come true is hard to say. Meanwhile, TON ecosystem altcoins have also reacted positively: Jetton and DFC 10% up and SCALE up 52%. 😄 If the trend set last week by the US Fed with increased liquidity for the stock market continues, then price indicators may continue to grow.

⚠️ Bitcoin price falls below $57,000 ⤵️ Following the failed listing of a Bitcoin ETF in Hong Kong and CZ's sentencing, the price of bitcoin fell below $60,000. 📊 For many traders, this was the stop limit and liquidation orders went in. As a result, bitcoin is now below the $57,000 mark. Let's see how long the correction and panic in the market lasts.
