Market News Update, Gold reached a new record high above $2,730 on Monday, continuing its strong rise from last week due to expectations of low global interest rates and ongoing geopolitical tensions. The rally was also supported by improving sentiment about China's economy after the People's Bank of China cut key loan rates more than expected. The one year Loan Prime Rate was reduced by 25 basis points to 3.10%, and the five year rate was lowered to 3.60%. No major economic data is expected Monday, but speeches from Federal Reserve officials are scheduled.
