💥Fun Friday 💥 Your Face Is Part of the Sentence! Think your face is just for showing emotion? In sign language it's doing so much more. Facial expressions are actually part of the grammar. They’re called non-manual markers, and they help show tone, questions, negation, and emotion. ❓Asking a yes/no question? Raise your eyebrows 🤨 Stating something negative🙅? Shake your head while signing Feeling surprised or excited? Let your face show it 😲😄 In Sign Language,  your hands are the words and your face is the punctuation, tone, and emojis, all in one! #FunFriday #SignLanguageFacts #YourFaceSpeaksToo SCORP-AA 💚💚💚 EMSA- AA | More than a student!

💥Wisdom Wednesday💥 Meet Helen Keller: A True Inspiration Who Changed the World Without Hearing or Sight Born in 1880, Helen Keller lost both her hearing and sight at just 19 months old. But that didn’t stop her from becoming one of the most influential voices in history. With the help of her teacher Anne Sullivan , Helen learned to communicate through tactile sign language, a groundbreaking achievement at the time. She went on to become the first deaf-blind person to earn a college degree 🎓, author 12 books 📚, and travel the world as a speaker and activist for the rights of the deaf, blind, and disabled community ✊. ✍Helen proved that disability does not define your ability. Her courage and determination opened doors for millions and changed the way the world sees communication, education, and inclusion. #WisdomWednesday #InclusionMatters SCORP-AA 💚💚💚 EMSA- AA | More than a student!

💥Wisdom Wednesday 💥 The Man Who Gave the Deaf a Voice: Abbe Charles-Michel de l’Épée 👐✨ Imagine living in a world where you couldn’t express your thoughts💭, where society saw you as incapable simply because you were deaf. That was the reality for many before one man changed everything. Abbé Charles-Michel de l’Épée, an 18th-century French educator, believed that deaf individuals had the right to education and communication. While others dismissed them, he saw their potential💡. Using hand signs already in use by the deaf community, he developed the first standardized sign language system—laying the foundation for what would become modern sign languages. 🗣️➡️🤟 In 1760, he established the world’s first free school for the deaf, proving that with the right tools, deaf individuals could learn, succeed, and thrive. ✍His story is a reminder that true change happens when we choose to see ability instead of limitation. #WisdomWednesday #BreakingBarriers SCORP-AA 💚💚💚 EMSA- AA | More than a student!

🌟 Wisdom Wednesday 🌟 🗣🗣 "Medicine must never again be used as a weapon against human rights." Meet ✨ The Nuremberg Code ✨ – The Rulebook That Saved Ethics in Medicine Imagine a world where doctors could experiment on people without consent—terrifying, right? Well, that was reality during World War II, when Nazi doctors conducted horrific experiments on prisoners. The world was outraged, and in 1947, the Nuremberg Code was born! 🩺 What did it do? It established informed consent as the golden rule of medical research, meaning no one can be used as a test subject without full knowledge and agreement. This was the first step toward modern medical ethics, shaping how research is done today. 💡📖 Let this be a reminder: Science must serve humanity, not harm it. #WisdomWednesday ✨ #MedicalEthics 🔬 #HumanRights Warmest green hugs 💚💚 SCORP-AA 💚💚💚 EMSA- AA | More than a student!

🧬 World Down Syndrome Day – March 21, 2025 🧬 Today, we recognize World Down Syndrome Day, a moment to reflect on the importance of inclusive healthcare 🏥, education 📚, and social support 🤝 for individuals with Down syndrome. This year's theme, "Improve Our Support Systems," urges us to strengthen medical, rehabilitative, and community resources 💪 to ensure holistic care and improved quality of life 🌟. 🌍 Did you know? Around 5.4 million people worldwide live with Down syndrome. While life expectancy has improved thanks to medical advances, disparities in healthcare access and societal stigma still exist. 💪 As future healthcare professionals, it is our responsibility to drive change. By advocating for early interventions, inclusive policies, and patient-centered care, we can help build a system that serves everyone. 💖 Let’s create a world where no one is left behind in their journey to health and happiness. 💥Fun Friday💥 Did Your Barber Just Perform Surgery? ✂️⚕️ Did you know❓Back in the 1800s, barbers and dentists were often the same person! That’s right. if you went in for a haircut, you might have also walked out with a tooth pulled or even minor surgery 😱. The famous barber pole (red, white, and blue stripes) actually represents bloodletting and medical procedures. 🩸💈 Imagine sitting down for a trim and hearing, “While I’m at it, want me to check that cavity?” 😂 Talk about a one-stop shop for pain and style! 💡Remember, access to safe and professional medical care is a fundamental human right—leave the surgeries to the surgeons! 💡✊ Warmest green hugs SCORP-AA 💚💚💚 EMSA- AA | More than a student!

🌟 Wisdom Wednesday 🌟 🗣🗣 "Brilliance knows no gender, but history often forgets the women who prove it." Meet ✨✨ Dr. Gerty Cori ✨✨ – The Woman Who Unlocked the Secrets of Energy in Our Cells At a time when women in science were ignored, Dr. Gerty Cori made a discovery that changed medicine forever. 🧪⚡ She uncovered how the body converts sugar into energy—a breakthrough that led to modern treatments for diabetes and metabolic diseases. 🔬 But while her husband, Carl Cori, was celebrated, she was pushed into the shadows—offered only low-ranking research positions and lower pay. Still, she refused to be overlooked. She kept working, kept discovering, kept proving the world wrong. And in 1947, she became the first woman to win the Nobel Prize in Medicine. 💡📖 Let this be a reminder that true impact isn’t measured by recognition, but by the lives changed—and Dr. Cori’s work continues to save millions today. #WisdomWednesday ✨ #BreakingBarriers 🔬 SCORP-AA 💚💚💚 EMSA- AA | More than a student!

💥Fun Friday💥 Can You Sue Someone for Breaking Your Heart? 💔⚖️ Did you know❓ In China, a man actually sued his ex-girlfriend for “emotional damages” after she ghosted him in a long-term relationship. 📱😲 The court ruled that her sudden disappearance caused him significant distress. Imagine living in a world where every “we need to talk” conversation comes with legal paperwork and a signed agreement. 📑😂 Love might be priceless, but apparently, heartbreak isn’t—it’s now got a price tag! 💡 Remember, emotional well-being and the right to be treated with dignity are fundamental human rights. 💡✊💙 Warmest green hugs SCORP-AA 💚💚💚 EMSA- AA | More than a student!

Wisdom Wednesday Dr. Hawa Abdi: The Doctor Who Defended Humanity 🏥🌍 Ever heard of Dr. Hawa Abdi? If not, here’s your dose of inspiration! 💉💪 A Somali doctor, human rights activist, and ABSOLUTE LEGEND, she turned her own land into a hospital and refuge, providing medical care to over 90,000 displaced people, completely free of charge. She stood firm against armed militants🙅‍♀, refusing to back down in the face of danger, showing that courage and compassion go hand in hand. 😳🔥 Her wisdom? "My mission is to bring peace and hope to people who have none." A reminder that medicine isn’t just about treating diseases—it’s about standing up for people when no one else will. 💚 #WisdomWednesday #Hope #peace SCORP-AA 💚💚💚 EMSA- AA | More than a student!
