Rally outside the Home Office to oppose "Security and Policing 2024". When: Tuesday 12th March @ 6PM Where: Home Office, Westminster This is a secretive government event, which runs from 12-14 March in Farnborough, where the leaders of British policing and border enforcement rub shoulders with arms companies and delegations from countries with poor human rights. Journalists and human rights groups are barred from attending. Its focus is on marketing new ways to harass refugees fleeing violence and environmental collapse; watching and controlling oppressed communities; and limiting protest and freedom of speech. Amidst the horrors of the latest news from Gaza, it's just business as usual for the suppliers of drones, surveillance and security tech - some of it "field tested" on Palestinians - with companies like Elbit, BAE Systems and L3 Harris who are complicit in the ongoing genocide in attendance. It is vital to demonstrate our opposition outside the Home Office, not least because the senior police officers who participating are also actively lobbying for a further crackdown on the right to protest. Sunday 4th Feb, 6pm 🍉 On Sunday 4th Feb, the Apollo Theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue is hosting an Israeli Army fundraiser. The event is advertised as an evening with Douglas Murray, a fascist anti-Muslim polemicist, and Paul Charney, Technion UK Chairman, who volunteered in the IOF for three months since October. The International Court of Justice ordered provisional measures to prevent acts of genocide by Israel just one week ago. Now one of our West End theatres has seen fit to host the Israeli army, responsible for the murder of over 31,000 Palestinians. **TO SHARE WIDELY** CEASEFIRE CAROLS COMING TO THE UK Attention all Carol groups and choirs, a US initiative called Ceasefire Carols is coming to the UK. The structure of this carol-singing action series is decentralised and is meant for anyone around the world to implement. HOWEVER to kick things off in the UK, organisers are going to be coordinating three evenings at Kings Cross Station, between the 21st-23rd of December. We recommend a minimum of 6 (2 people on each part) up to however big you’d like! If your group is interested please get in touch via the sign up form below to choose a specific night! Organisers will provide signs for participating groups to use, and on the evening itself be on hand to provide anything required such as candles, binders, sheet music, red and green scarves, as well as liaison with the general public, coordinate with police, and take care of the choir’s welfare, with tea and biscuits.
