Small Liberal Arts Colleges (LACs) are the hidden gems of admissions and their application is totally different from Large Research University applications.
Most of the colleges I applied were LACs and I learned fast that they care more about FIT than anything else. You can have 1500+ SAT, APs, crazy honors and Rec letters, yet if you don't share the same values and match their vibe, you'll end up REJECTED.
Out of all the LACs I applied to, only Bowdoin said yes and I am sure it's mainly because they could imagine me thriving at Bowdoin.
Especially, if you are applying ED, financial aid shouldn't be the only thing you care about. Your ED choice is where you'll be spending your next 4 years. So choosing the right college with common values and interests is the most IMPORTANT thing.
