In 2013, James Howells from Wales accidentally threw away a hard drive containing 8,000 Bitcoins. Back then, Bitcoin wasn’t worth much, so it seemed like a small loss. But today, that hard drive is worth a jaw-dropping $647 million!
For years, Howells has been trying to get permission from Newport City Council to dig through a landfill where he believes his lost fortune is buried.
