*"
Mom... Mom doesn't understand anything... She always keeps interrupting... My life is getting ruined because of her!"*
These were the words of Aarav, who had slammed the door of his room and walked out. His mother, Sudha, stood quietly... her lips kept trembling, but no tears came out of her eyes. Perhaps now the tears were also tired.
*🌸 Beginning of a Mother*
Sudha was an ordinary village woman. After the sudden death of her husband, she educated Aarav by working as a labourer. Sometimes she lifted bricks, sometimes cleaned utensils of people, but never allowed her son to take leave from school.
When people would say - *"What will your son do with so much education?"*,
Sudha would just smile and say - *"My Aarav will become an officer one day... and I will proudly say - this is my son."*
*πŸ“š Journey from school to college*
Aarav was smart, good in studies. Sudha mortgaged everything she had and sent him to a big college in the city. When Aarav went to the city, Sudha would go to the temple every day, folding her hands β€” *β€œOh God, please make my son successful, even if I have to crave for a piece of bread.”* But after going to the city, Aarav started changing. Now his mother’s clothes seemed old to him, her language embarrassed him, her voice seemed like a burden.
*πŸ’” Wound on mother’s heart*
One day Aarav said on the phone β€” *β€œMom, don’t talk to me now. Everyone in college teases me that your mother looks like a village girl.”* Mom kept quiet. She cried all night… but the next morning she went to the temple again β€” *β€œOh God, please keep my son happy. Even if I can’t hear his voice.”* *🩺 Illness and struggle* After a few years, Sudha fell ill – she had cancer. But she didn’t tell her son, because she knew that Aarav was preparing for a job. He told Radha, a girl next door – *β€œIf my son ever comes, give him this letter… maybe then he will understand my need.”*
*✈️ Return… but it was too late*
One day Aarav got a call from the village – *β€œYour mother is no more.”* He came running. He was heartbroken to see his mother’s broken cot, old slippers, and her photo hanging on the wall. Radha gave him that letter. *πŸ’Œ "That last letter" (from mother's pen)* > "Dear son Aarav, When you are reading this letter, I will probably not be in this world. I troubled you a lot, didn't I? I embarrassed you... Please forgive me son. After your father left, you became my world. I thought, I will educate you and make you a big man, so that you never have to face the pain that I faced. When you used to call me 'uncivilized', I did not feel bad son, because I know that the heights you want to reach, the love of my hut might seem like a burden there. Always remember one thing - *Mother is that tree which burns in the sun, but does not let the shade of the son go away.* I was never angry with you, and could never be. May your name shine... this is my only prayer. β€” Your mother, Sudha." *😒 Repentance* Aarav hugged the letter to his chest and started crying. Today he understood why his mother's eyes were always red, why her palms were cracked, and why she didn't have slippers on her feet. He went to the temple... saw his mother's old withered garland and could say only one word - *"Maa... forgive me... just once..."* *🧠 Message:* A mother's heart is very big - she bears the pain but doesn't show it. The pain that a mother bears, perhaps no one else can bear it. No matter how old a son or daughter is, a mother's love never becomes small for them. *Don't embarrass your mother, make her proud. Your stature should be so big that your mother's aanchal becomes even higher.* ........................................................
