🐶 NetworkHound NetworkHound connects to Active Directory Domain Controllers, discovers computer objects, resolves hostnames to IP addresses using multiple DNS methods, performs comprehensive network scanning (port scanning, HTTP/HTTPS validation), and discovers shadow-IT devices. It then builds a detailed network topology graph in OpenGraph JSON format compatible with BloodHound.

Distribution of malware, disruption of systems, and violation of the privacy of correspondence are punishable by law. As the case study using Procmon and similar utilities demonstrated, the key idea is to find a driver that records events at the earliest stages of the operating system boot. This naturally raises the question: Is it possible to do without installing custom drivers and additional components, relying only on the mechanisms available in the system and without resorting to symbolic links? What if we slightly change the paths where some logs are already written by the system itself? And there is a great registry branch here HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\WMI in which AutoLogger and GlobalLogger exist. WMI AutoLogger - A way to configure one or more automatic tracing sessions that start at boot. Unlike GlobalLogger, each AutoLogger session independently sends a startup signal to providers and can be precisely configured for the desired set of providers. AutoLogger is not designed to record specific NT Kernel Logger events—GlobalLogger is used for that. WMI GlobalLogger - Historically, the mechanism for a single global session is older. It also starts early in the boot process and can enable kernel providers via special flags. Importantly, the GlobalLogger controller does not call EnableTrace for providers—the provider itself must determine that the global session is active and enable logging. AutoLogger already has a number of different sessions, so you can test them out (some work, some don't). In my case, I used HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\WMI\Autologger\ReadyBoot, where you can replace the path specified in FileName with the path to the service file you want to overwrite. For GlobalLogger, by default I didn't have any settings, but you can add them yourself: $reg = [wmiclass]'root\default:StdRegProv' $HKLM = 2147483650 $base = 'SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\WMI\GlobalLogger' $null = $reg.CreateKey($HKLM,$base) $reg.SetDWORDValue($HKLM,$base,'Start',1) $reg.SetStringValue($HKLM,$base,'FileName','C:\<path to the service file that needs to be overwritten>.exe') $flags = 0x00000010 -bor 0x00000020 $bytes = [BitConverter]::GetBytes([UInt32]$flags) $reg.SetBinaryValue($HKLM,$base,'EnableKernelFlags',$bytes) The only downsides are the need for admin rights and a host reboot, but overall it looks viable.
