My heart breaks for Hakuji (Akaza) and Koyuki. They deserved better. It's true that Akaza killed so many people, innocent people, good people like Rengoku. But I could never hate him; he wasn't evil, he didn't want to be evil. The world was just so cruel to him. That might sound like an excuse to justify his evil deeds, but again, I could never hate him.

The story begins with a little boy who has the ability to see dead people. He is bullied at school, and everyone thinks he is crazy. One day, a new psychiatrist comes to see him, but the little boy doesn't say anything about his ability because he assumes that the psychiatrist is not going to believe him. Then, one day....
