After Faustus have left from the emperor, he has gone to Duke which its authority and privileges are minimum than the emperor, Seemly, in this lines Faustus now is in the Duke's hall with his wife, the underline words expresses the slavery of Faustus, he is even acts like a servant to the Duke, which he is even less authority than the emperor, Thereafter Faustus announced that he heard Duke's wife is "great-bellied women", Which that means she is pregnant, as it's known that pregnant women desire food randomly, hence, Faustus ask here if she desires somethings and he is ready to achieve what shall she asks, Faustus in fact he is not who achieves but it's the devil, Faustus is nothing, he just asks Mephastophilis to do what he wants, Then, she asks for a grapes and as it's known he asks Mephastophilis to bring grapes for the wife.

Scene 10.... The extent of degradation.... Faustus dealing with fools.... Doctor Faustus before VS Doctor Faustus after....... In this scene we see how Faustus becomes so silly, He dealing with illiterate, fool arguing him on sum of dollars, and how he uses the magic that he gained it from deuce to fool the horse courser, ridiculous usage of the power, at end he fooled the horse courser and claimed addition 40 dollars from the horse courser, In olden scenes, Faustus wants to help these fool and poor people, but now, he mocking them and deluding them instead, a big detour in his personality.

Scene 10.... Quotation... The teller is Faustus. The receiver is horse courser. The occasion - Faustus selling his horse. My boy will deliver him to you. But I must tell you one thing before you have him;(25) ride him not into the water at any hand. HORSE-COURSER.Why, sir, will he not drink of all waters? After Faustus sold his horse to the courser, he told him that he can ride the horse wherever he wants, but not into the water, Faustus seems here to play the role of Mephastophilis when he warned Faustus from selling his soul to devil, Faustus here is a Mephastophilis like, he warning the courser from ride the horse into the water or the horse will turn to pile of hay, also, we see the ridiculous usage of Faustus's power, that it's lack to real substance.

HORSE-COURSER.I have been all this day seeking one(10) Master Fustian: mass, see where he is! God save you, Master Doctor! FAUSTUS.What, horse-courser! You are well met. HORSE-COURSER.Do you hear, sir? I have brought you(15) forty dollars for your horse. FAUSTUS.I cannot sell him so: if thou likest him for fifty, take him. In these lines, we see Faustus trying to sell his horse to a horse courser ( horse coursers are know as a shady people, also known as a tricky bargainers, as this one, he mistakes Faustus's name maybe intentionally, or suggest that he is illiterate), moreover, we see how Faustus is squabbling with this low and illiterate character on the price of the horse, the courser wants the horse for 40 Dollars and Faustus wants 50, He squabbling for sum Dollars, in another angle, we see the tragic flow of Faustus that he became arguing with horse courser the flat wretched character for 10 Dollars, also, he bargaining for sum Dollars, but he did not ever bargaining when he has sold his soul to the devile, that enhances the descent of Faustus to the lowest class in the play furthermore, the absurdity that Faustus have reached too.

The statement "shall command me" is extremely significant, Due it's a surprise detour in Faustus's personality, In olden Shows we witnessed him and his seeks to be a God like, but now he is an Obedient subservient.

Scene 9... Crucial quotation.... The teller is Faustus the receiver is the emperor The occasion - emperor demands Faustus to prove his powers.. The first Two Phrases are the first thing that Faustus have siad, Here he is answering humbly emperor's demands, this is unfamiliar spot in this scene, due how could Faustus the prideful, the rebellious who challenged and renounced God! now he becomes humble with this emperor, anyway, Faustus Says that he isn't that power as men published about him ( he is again playing the role of humbler, he is being more humble) but he promises the emperor to accomplish whatever he commands him The underlining shows how Faustus now is a subservient to the emperor, he is more like a slave quite opposite with beginning of the play, instead of ruling the world, he is now a slave like.

These Lines beginnings with an Emperor that he someway heard about Faustus and his alleged powers and abilities, The emperor confesses that Faustus's power isn't existed neither in his kingdom nor the whole world, therefore, it's Fascinating that someone has claimed an heavenly power which it's makes him accomplish what he wants, Hence, the emperor demands Faustus to show his power on in front of him, he wants the proofs on that, emperor promises Faustus That if he achieve what demands him, he will reward him by his own authority and his privileges as emperor. we notice here that Faustus in olden scenes he wants to rule the world, but he now is controlled by the emperor, to show his power for achieving others's desires instead of his own.

The Chorus after Scene 8 represents transformation to new setting in the play.
