📖 #PixelSwap101 Why We Need Atomic Swaps on #TON? In our previous #PixelSwap101, we introduced what Atomic Swap is and how it works. Today, it's time to know the advantages of Atomic Swap, and then understand why we called it the pearl of TON #DeFi. Atomic swaps provide traders with advantages that are not available through other solutions⬇️: - Lower fees: The absence of a third party reduces transaction costs, leading to lower fees. - Cross-chain interoperability: Users can exchange assets across different blockchains without losing custody of their assets or private keys. - No fiat currency involved: Crypto users can exchange assets directly, without the need for fiat currency. - Faster transactions: Transactions are executed swiftly through smart contracts, which automatically execute once both parties fulfill their obligations. - Enhanced security: Smart contracts offer higher security by ensuring users regain their assets if the other party fails to fulfill their part of the agreement. - Reduced counterparty risks: No need to trust a centralized third party, allowing traders to maintain complete control over their assets. - Deeper liquidity: Cross-chain interoperability increases asset liquidity by making them tradeable across different blockchain networks. - Direct asset-to-asset Swaps: Users can swap crypto assets directly without needing to first convert to a stablecoin or make multiple transactions. - Guaranteed outcomes: Smart contracts guarantee that trades execute as described or users receive their funds back. 💎 Rewards always come with challenges, and as a complex technology, Atomic Swaps also present certain development difficulties on TON Blockchain. #PixelSwap has largely overcome these challenges and will soon launch the most innovative Atomic Swap solution. Stay tuned! ——— Official Links 🔹LayerPixel: Homepage | Twitter | Channel | Community | Medium | Bot 🔹PixelSwap : Homepage | Twitter | Channel | SWAP | Pool 🔹PixelDAO : Twitter | Forum | Chat Group

#PixelSwap101 Let's dive deeper into Atomic Swap, the Missing Pearl of TON DeFi In our previous #PixelSwap101, we introduced Atomic Swap, a method that facilitates peer-to-peer exchanges of crypto assets across different blockchain networks. Now, let’s dive deeper to know how it works with a real-world example. 👇🏻 Imagine Alice and Bill want to trade cryptocurrencies directly, without involving a middleman. If they use atomic swap: 1. Alice creates a hashed timelock contract (HTLC) address, deposits her TON, and generates a pre-image that’s hashed to lock the transaction. 2. She shares the hashed key with Bill for verification. 3. Bill creates his own HTLC address using the same hash and deposits his Bitcoin. 4. Alice uses the pre-image to unlock Bill’s deposit and her private key is revealed to Bill. 5. Bill uses the private key to unlock Alice’s deposit, completing the swap. If a time limit is added and Bill does not complete the transaction before the timelock expires, the tokens claimed by Alice will revert to Bill. This whole process is efficient, and secure, and avoids the higher fees typically associated with centralized exchanges. As the distinguished modular DEX built on the #TON blockchain, PixelSwap offers rich composability and security. Features such as Atomic Swaps will also be introduced to everyone in the following future versions. ——— Official Links 🔹LayerPixel: Homepage | Twitter | Channel | Community | Medium | Bot 🔹PixelSwap : Homepage | Twitter | Channel | SWAP | Pool 🔹PixelDAO : Twitter | Forum | Chat Group

The evolution of decentralized finance has profoundly reshaped the blockchain landscape, flourished during the "DeFi Summer." However, as the synchronous model revealed scalability and cost limitations, new blockchain architectures like asynchronous blockchains began to emerge. 💎 Asynchronous blockchains like TON Blockchain, offer enhanced scalability through parallel processing and distributed state management but introduce complexities in transaction atomicity and composability. In recent months, the TON ecosystem has witnessed explosive growth, highlighted by the rise of projects like $NOT, $DOGS, and $HMSTR. This surge has reportedly brought millions of new users, marking a significant milestone in mass adoption. While user numbers have skyrocketed, the total value locked (TVL) remains surprisingly low, and the emergence of robust #DeFi protocols is still in its infancy. This disparity raises concerns about user engagement and highlights the gaps in TON's infrastructure. How can we pave the way for a more dynamic DeFi ecosystem on #TON? @PixelSwap_io provides powerful solutions to these challenges. In our latest article, we will explore the historical context of DeFi, the shift to asynchronous blockchains, delve into Atomic Swap, and examine how LayerPixel & PixelSwap seek to address the challenges faced by developers on the TON blockchain. 📖 Read it now: https://medium.com/@LayerPixel_io/from-mini-game-to-defi-what-are-we-lacking-on-ton-5f36ed12500f

✨ We know you have been waiting for PixelSwap for a long time, but to ensure your security and provide a better experience, we are still conducting further testing. 💎 However, we would like to introduce the PixelSwap v0.8 Beta version is now LIVE. We will continue to release new features, so the v0.8 version is simply for you to preview our modular design and architecture. In PixelSwap v0.8, you can experience: - Creating and depositing into the funding wallet (account abstraction wallet) - Swapping with the connected wallet and funding wallet - Variable transaction fees for different trading pairs - Depositing and withdrawing liquidity 🔗 All at: https://pixelswap.io 🔍 You might be wondering why we designed the funding wallet. This is because we are using a separate settlement layer design, which allows us to support atomic swaps and enable interoperability between #DeFi protocols on #TON. 🤔What’s next? In PixelSwap v0.9, we will introduce the weighted pool swapping curve. We are running some final tests here, so sit tight - it's coming shortly. Your safety is our top priority.

#PixelSwap101 What is Capital Efficiency? People talk too much about TVL(Total Value Locked) while another important force has always been overlooked - Capital Efficiency. This concept refers to how effectively capital is being utilized to generate returns or output. If liquidity is the lifeblood of DeFi, capital efficiency is the heartbeat, driving how productively assets are deployed. When evaluating the efficiency of DEXs, the key metric to watch is Liquidity Turnover Ratio (LTR) = Trading Volume (24hr)/TVL. This ratio indicates how much trading volume is generated for every dollar of liquidity locked in the protocol. A DEX with higher capital efficiency achieves more trading volume with less liquidity, and vice versa. Imagine a DEX with good capital efficiency like a well-oiled machine, where every moving part is optimized to generate maximum output with minimal effort. In contrast, an inefficient DEX is like a rusty old one, wasting fuel for poor performance. As decentralized exchanges continue to evolve, capital efficiency is now the driving force that’s redefining the competitive dynamics in the space.

#PixelSwap101 How Do AMM & Liquidity Pools Work? Automated market makers (AMMs) have revolutionized on-chain trading by eliminating the need for a traditional order book. Unlike conventional exchanges where traders need a direct counterparty to execute trades, AMMs enable seamless trading on token pairs, even those that would typically suffer from low liquidity on order book exchanges. The key to this system is the liquidity pool—a collection of funds supplied by liquidity providers and locked into a smart contract. Think of an order book exchange as peer-to-peer while trading on an AMM as peer-to-contract. When trading on an AMM, you’re not dealing with another individual but interacting with the liquidity in the pool. As long as the pool has sufficient liquidity, your trade can go through without needing a seller. For instance, buying $DOGS on a DEX isn’t a direct transaction with a seller. Instead, an algorithm in the pool manages the trade, setting prices and executing based on the pool’s liquidity. While liquidity providers supply the funds you’re trading against, they aren’t acting as direct counterparts like in order book models. Instead, you’re engaging with the smart contract governing the pool, offering a distinct trading experience.

#PixelSwap101 What is Routing in DEX? In the context of a DEX, routing is crucial for determining the optimal path for token swaps. It acts as a decision-making engine that evaluates various liquidity pools and trading pairs to ensure the most efficient trade execution. What Does a Smart Routing Offer? - Best Price: Finds optimal paths through liquidity pools to deliver the most favorable swap rates. - Lower Slippage: Identifies efficient routes to minimize the price impact of large trades, reducing slippage. - Deeper Liquidity: Pools liquidity from multiple sources, including various DEXs, to offer deeper liquidity and better pricing. - Higher Speed: Handles a high volume of transactions swiftly, reducing delays and ensuring a seamless user experience. In summary, routing is a crucial element of DEXs, essential for optimizing trades, enhancing liquidity, and providing competitive rates. At @PixelSwap_io, we delve deeply into advanced techniques such as successive shortest path, minimum cost flow, and convex optimization to power our Smart Routing Innovation. As the DeFi landscape evolves with continuous innovations, we are committed to delivering increasingly efficient and user-friendly trading experiences.

#PixelSwap101 What is MEV? - 1/3, Sandwich Attack Maximal extractable value (MEV) is the maximum value block producers (miners or validators) can obtain by including, reordering, or excluding transactions when producing a new block. In the context of DEXs, MEV can be primarily categorized into three types: Sandwich Attacks, Arbitrage, and Liquidations. Hungry? Let's take Sandwich Attacks first. Sandwich attacks are a common form and comprise about half of MEV. They are often used to manipulate prices on DEX. For example, if we place an order to buy $1 million worth of $TON on a DEX, a bot detects this transaction and quickly creates its buy order for TON with a higher transaction fee to get ahead in the block. Once the bot’s order is executed, the price of TON increases due to the automated market maker mechanism, which is the most commonly used by DEXs. By the time our order is processed, the price has risen, so we end up with less TON than we initially intended. This difference is known as slippage. After our transaction, the TON price continues to rise. The bot then creates another transaction to sell the TON it bought at the lower price, pocketing the profit. These two bot transactions effectively “sandwich” our order, hence the name “Sandwich Attacks” or “MEV Bot.” PixelSwap applies methods such as built-in swap protection and the atomic swap, protecting your swaps from MEV.

#PixelSwap101: Where is the DEX experience on TON headed? Looking at the entire crypto ecosystem, Uniswaphas consistently been a pioneer since 2018, and it remains the benchmark and major influence for all DEXs. There is still much to learn from its advancements. The pattern of following in Uniswap’s footsteps has been the evolutionary path for all DEXs including those on TON, as it is the simplest business model. However, the current DEX experience on TON isn’t as fully developed as Uniswap. While it’s well-known that TON has tremendous social potential, there has been little product adaptation to its unique social ecosystem beyond basic Telegram Bot functionalities. We believe a key direction moving forward is to seamlessly integrate with Telegram, offering users an ultra-smooth experience. This integration can add greater meaning to swaps, such as enhancing social interactions and supporting community clustering. We think DEXs on TON need to seriously address this and work towards creating a unique DEX that fuels TON’s further development. This is exactly what @PixelSwap_io is aiming to achieve.

#PixelSwap101 Why is “permissionless” considered a golden rule for DEXs? “Permissionless” is fundamental to DEXs as it allows anyone to trade freely without requiring approval or permission from a third party. This decentralized approach safeguards user privacy and freedom while minimizing the risks of censorship and restrictions commonly encountered in centralization. Without it, you have only little real control of your assets, and the following risks associated with centralization will devour you: - Single Point of Failure: CEXs rely on centralized servers and infrastructure, which can cripple the platform if they fail or are attacked, preventing users from accessing their assets. - Regulatory Risks: CEXs may face compliance requirements and scrutiny from governments and regulatory bodies, potentially leading to asset freezes or platform shutdowns. - Security Risks, Privacy Risks, Operational Risks, and Market Manipulation Risks, etc. To be fair, DEXs still have significant room for improvement, particularly in addressing the high risks associated with reliance on smart contract code. However, through our relentless efforts, PixelSwap now stands as a 100% permissionless DEX built on the TON blockchain, promoting absolute decentralization, non-custodial trading, and transparency, while significantly minimizing these risks.

#PixelSwap101: What is an Atomic Swap? Atomic swaps, a.k.a Hashed Timelock Contracts Protocols, enable peer-to-peer exchanges of crypto assets across separate blockchain networks. They operate using a “virtual vault” in the form of a time-bound smart contract, which ensures that funds can only be released when both parties fulfill their obligations by depositing the correct amounts of assets. The term “atomic” or “atomicity” comes from software development, referring to transactions that must either be completed fully or not at all. In the context of atomic swaps, this means the exchange will only occur if all necessary token deposits are made by the users involved. If any participant does not comply, the transaction is canceled, and all parties are refunded their assets. Why is it important in the development of the #TON ecosystem? While decentralized, most blockchains were not originally built to communicate with one another, creating a divide and isolating assets on separate networks. The principle behind atomic swaps is similar to the trustless Bitcoin bridge announced by the TON Foundation, allowing asset holders from other networks to engage in DeFi activities on TON without compromising the security of their original assets. Infrastructures like atomic swaps are crucial for bridging these gaps and will greatly contribute to the further prosperity of the TON ecosystem.

#PixelSwap101: The First Modular & Upgradeable DEX on TON. Modularity enhances blockchain speed and scalability by methods such as storing transaction data off-chain and keeping only proofs on-chain. Why is modular DEX the future? DEX innovation will be propelled by specialization across each layer of the stack, rather than merely focusing on the end-user experience. This represents a process that develops from the inside out. Then what are the benefits? 🔹 Modular architecture enables projects to select the most efficient pricing models, resulting in lower fees for users and significantly improved capital efficiency for projects. With a Modular DEX, projects can achieve capital efficiency that even surpasses that of CEXs. 🔹 Modular architecture enables stronger adaptability and development efficiency with its upgradable features and customizable settings such as swapping curves and gas fees. As time progresses, most of the functions and performance of DEX can be further improved more easily. 🔹 Innovations in the whole modular field are advancing rapidly, and the integration and collaboration between technologies will continue to bring more positive externalities to the optimization of the modular DEX experience.
