๐ฎโโ๏ธ Teen linked to $90M US government crypto theft exposed after wallet flex
โก๏ธ On-chain investigator ZachXBT traced a threat actor known as John, also called Lick, to more than $90M in suspected thefts after he publicly flaunted wallets holding around $23M. Part of the funds were tied to US government seizure addresses connected to the Bitfinex hack in 2024, involving roughly 1,000 BTC.
โก๏ธ John was exposed after a Telegram argument with another threat actor, Dritan Kapplani Jr., during which they went โband for bandโ to prove who controls more crypto. The entire exchange was recorded, including screen shares showing John controlling multiple wallets that were receiving large ETH and TRON inflows.
โก๏ธ Reports say the suspect is a US school student who gained access using credentials from his father, who worked in a government unit handling seized assets. Flashy spending and public bragging did the rest.
