قال ابن قتيبة(ت ٢٧٦): (كان طالب العلم فيما مضى يسمع ليعلم،ويَعلم ليعمل..وينتفع وينفع وصـار الآن يسمع ليجمع،ويجمع لِيُذكر، ويحفظ ليغلب ويفخر) "Ibn Qutayabh (276h) rahimahullāh said: "A student of knowledge in times gone by would listen (to knowledge) to learn, would learn to act (upon the knowledge) and to benefit and be of benefit.
