How often do you complete a khatmah of the Qurān? قال ابن قدامة رحمه الله : ‏ويُكره أن يؤخر ختمة القرآن ‏أكثر من أربعين يوما. ‏ ‏📙المغني 1/459 ‏قال القرطبي: ‏والأربعين مدة الضعفاء وأولي الأشغال Ibn Qudāmah rahimahullāh said: “It is disliked to delay the completion of the Qurān more than 40 days”. (Al-Mughnī, 1/459) Al-Qurtubī rahimahullāh said: “And 40 (days) is the duration of the weak and those who are occupied”.

قال عبدالله بن داود رحمه الله : ‏"كانوا يستحبون أن يكون للرجل خبيّةٌ ‏من عمل صالح لا يعلم بها زوجه ولا غيرها، ‏ولقد كانوا يراقبون الله في ظُلَم الليل" ‏علل الحديث لأبي حفص الفلاس (١٩٦) ‘Abdullāh bin Dāwūd rahimahullāh said: “They (the salaf) preferred that a man has a portion of righteous actions which are hidden that neither his wife nor anyone else knows about.
