USA. Kody McElveen was fleeing from the police because a deputy observed his Dodge Challenger Hellcat lacked license plates. During the pursuit, McElveen hit a police officer with his car, causing minor injuries to the officer, who was treated subsequently. McElveen was later apprehended in a Rouse's parking lot after trying to escape on foot. He was found to be carrying a firearm at the time of his arrest. He faces multiple charges, including Attempted Murder of a Police Officer, Aggravated Assault with a Motor Vehicle Upon a Peace Officer, among others.

USA, Virginia. Girl strangles boy on Fairfax county school bus. The mother of the boy has had two protective orders placed on the girl, but the school district had failed to impose it. "On January 23, 2023, my son was assaulted and strangled on the school bus by another student. I learned about the altercation when my son came home crying with red marks on his neck. The girl who harmed my son this day was also the same one who stole a toy from him months prior to which the school said they would “take care of it." I was sent this video from another student which made me realize how severe and traumatic this event was for my son and also learned that the video was actually the SECOND time she attacked and strangled him."

USA. Police Brutality Caught on Camera. Video shows suburban Chicago police officer (Richard Tabisz) throw handcuffed suspect to the ground. Lake County State's Attorney Erc Rinehart has said as many as seven officers were on the scene at the time, and the suspect was cooperating with police. Police said the suspect, whose name has not been released, was charged with domestic battery. The State's Attorney's Office said it began a review of all pending cases involving Tabisz in light of the charges against him. Tabisz is due to make his first court appearance on Jan. 17, and has been placed on administrative leave.
