it's not a subject to take easily and as normal citizens we will not be asked if rulers are muslims or not. it's scholars who decides that and it's better for us to not interfere or dive into this. khaourij are takfiris and we all know the danger of khaourij. plus there is this hadith meaning when you takfir someone who isnt the kufr returns on you. Maybe those rulers have lot pressure and try to keep people safe,ok there is lot corruption but we've better ask for them guidance than send takfir on them.

If the hadith on al-hasan is not enough for you then let me deduce how al-hasan's ijtihaad in the matter is something to be admired and followed. We all know in the prophets fare well speech he said cling on to my sunnah and the sunnah of the khulafaa arraashideen. The scholars include al-hasan from among them meaning his abdication for ensuing peace is an example to be followed, not critised, especially from laymen. By all means if you wanna hyper analyse current leaders whether their moves are strategic, good for the ummah in the long run and what not, knock yourself out. However there are lines not to be crossed and etiquette which must be adhered to. People should know their place and our place is not to criticise people like Al-hassan
