Hyperthyroidism ( graves's disease)

1) Exophthalmos 1- Autoimmune antibodies stimulate fibroblast in eye, causing secretion of GAGs that accumulate water in retro-orbital tissue ( swelling behind the eye ball) 2- degenerative changes in extraocular muscle.

Hypothyroidism

1) swelling in myxedema In normal condition fibroblast cell is inhibited by thyroxin, in myxedema there's a decrease in thyroid hermones, so fibroblast is activated, make an accumulation of water in the tissue. 2) non pitting edema Accumulation of protein with hyaluronic acid and chondroitin sulphate which is hard tissue. #physio_endo https://t.me/MDM43_Files_Notes

Gigantism

1) Galactorrhoea -----> due to lactogenic effect of GH, acidophilic tumor could affect on lactotropes.

Acromegaly

1) Hypertension ----> 1- increase erythropoiesis -> increase RBCs 2- increase plasma blood volume 3- increase thickness of arterial wall causing narrow lumen causing ⬆️ peripheral resistance 2) Gynaecomastia in male ---> Hyperprolactinemia causing ⬇️ LH causing ⬇️ testosterone, estrogen takes the upper hand, ⬆️ growth the breast gland. 3) Cardiomyopathy ---> 1- Hypertension 2- hypertrophy of heart muscle because the increase the growth of the heart muscle without increasing in blood supply.

Hyperprolactinemia

Osteoporosis --> ⬆️ Prolactin causing ⬇️ estrogen There's a balance between osteoblast and osteoclast because of estrogen, when estrogen decrease, ⬆️ activity of osteoclast

SIADH

Has normal BP ( why? ) 1- ⬆️Natriuresis --> loss of Na+ and water in urine ( because inhibition of Aldosterone secretion) 2- increase enter of water inside cell Like brain causing ( cerebral edema) #physio_endo https://t.me/MDM43_Files_Notes
