The concept of a State is only possible in a being who, due to internal superiority, ceasing to be a force among others of mankind, realizes himself as a determinant of the law of unity and then in the free legislation the idea of the State as power will be constructed. The unity in which such an organism converges is a superior life that has an end in itself, which does not live for the needs of his body, which is not created by the body, but the soul is the profound principle that also supports the body itself as taught by Aristotle. This means: the Leader will not be the mere representative of the inferiors (democratic thesis), but almost as a spiritual center of gravity for the orderly movement of the individual forces of loyalty and responsibility, a regard for the interest of the whole, maintained without any pressure and any forced centralisation. — Evola, “Il Popolo d’Italia”, 12 dicembre 1957

Machiavelli’s Prince does not embody the Right at all; rather, he represents it's inversion: while the Machiavellian leader may invoke spiritual or religious values, he will do so by simply endorsing them as a useful means to his rule, without acknowledging their instrinsic worth. Principles of a higher order — he abuses ‘myths’ to stir the irrational forces of the masses. one can recognize a mixture between the Machiavellian concept of the "prince" and that of the demagogue son of democracy, the inverted mystique giving the leader the character called by some "charismatic" is completely unscrupulous and sometimes even demonic, as regards the means to establish power: "absolute politics". The first condition for all aristocratic superiority, is to value man within his free personality, the respect towards oneself, towards one's own dignity, to Machiavelli is unknown. — Evola, Gli uomini e le rovine (1972)

The Samurai compared himself to the beautiful cherry blossoms. Discipline and meditation, lightened the weight of his earthly being, capable of detachment. He considered death like the spring wind in which nothing is dark: it comes from the blue mystery of the sky to proclaim life. The wind detaches the flowers to sprinkle the meadows like the path of men. And like a spring wind, he learned its death: a journey from Mystery to Mystery, from this life to next life, this brief passage through the earth for the mission of bearing witness to the Sun. It is the result of an education imparted over centuries by masters who transformed him from a predator to a follower of the 'Way', to defend a Land, a Lord, a vision of the world.  — Mario Polia, L’Etica del Bushido

By "tradition" we mean conservatism, yes, but conservatism of what is alive and not of what is dead; principles which, due to their superior dignity and nature are beyond time, not for yesterday, but for eternity. 'A President who promises obedience to a constitution created by men, and a Sovereign as the representative of God on earth, are as different from each other as an artificial stone from a diamond.' In the Sovereign, the highest form there is the unity the temporal and the spiritual, the virile and the sacral, the doctrine of divine right as it was professed in Europe. The State (above all the Empire) has its own meaning and its own transcendent purpose, appearing as a triumph of the cosmos over chaos, as an effective formation carried out by a force from above — the ancients said: by a force from the "overworld" — a force acting within the naturalistic element of every narrow ethnic, biological and “human" component. — Evola, “Rassegna Italiana”, XVII, 193, giugno 1934

Evola was comparable to a stone guest, someone who sits in the presence of society, but belongs to other worlds. A man of action who called for preparatory reflection on action, on the form to be given to Action. He had repeatedly underlined that task of the men of Tradition was precisely that of crossing this world, of acting in it, of penetrating it without belonging to it, without being conditioned, without being corrupted, in constant and careful vigilance. As he himself did throughout his intense life in severe ethos. With his virile example, his radical line of conduct, through the transmission of his thoughts and reflections, through his immense cultural production. An absolute total and global Revolt that left no room for hesitation. A destroyer like Nietzsche but above Nietzsche. At the same time, affirmer of an articulated Vision of the World and of Life. — Maurizio Rossi

Simmel's essay, among other things, we can read: “The transcendent has no form; form means limit, and therefore the absolute, being limitless, cannot be formed. There is therefore an unformed among all forms, and another unformed above all forms; the high mountain, with the dark violence of its purely material mass and its otherworldly yearning, with its snowy regions transfigured beyond the tensions of life unites both in a single accord. That form devoid of a real meaning allows us to bring together the feeling and the symbol of the two great powers of existence: that which is less than every form and that which is more than every form”. Julius Evola therefore practiced mountaineering. For him the experience of the mountains represents, beyond the physical test itself, the possibility of an interior realization that very rarely can be offered today to modern Western man. — Maurizio Murelli, Dalla trincea a dada

“In the fight against mountain heights and dizziness, the action is free from all that is machine, from all that mitigates man's direct and absolute relationship with things. And in the imminence of heaven with the abyss how close is the possibility of reawakening, through what seems a simple exercise of the body, the symbol of overcoming, a virile spiritual light, a contact with the primordial forces closed inside the limbs: so that the physical agon is at a time more than physical, and in the victorious success it is almost the adornment of something no longer human. If ancient mythologies put the symbolic living room of the «gods» into heights, this is myth, but simultaneously it is an allegorical expression of a meaning that is real; and which can always resurrect in interiority.” — Julius Evola, Società Editrice Barbarossa

In primordial symbolism the sign of the sun as "Life", "Light of the Lands", is also the sign of Man. And just as in its annual course the sun dies and is reborn, so Man too has his "year", he dies and is reborn. The sun is considered invincible due to its recurring triumph over darkness. And this invincibility, in ancient Iran, was transferred to a force from above (hvarenô) Precisely to the sun and other celestial entities, it would descend on the sovereigns and leaders, making them equally invincible and causing their subjects to see in them men who were more than mere mortals. And this particular concept also took hold in imperial Rome, so much so that its coins often refer to the "invincible sun", and the attributes of the mystical force of victory were equated with those of the Emperor. The primordial idea of the New Year was the gift of light and life that the new Sun, the "Son", gives to men. Gift to be understood both in a material and spiritual sense. — Evola, 5 gennaio 1972

The superior man that Evola describes does not cower, does not flatten himself, but is ready to get rid of many hesitations just as someone who enlists in an army renounces not only clothes and baggage but many habits and many frivolities of «I».  «Active impersonality»: this is the formula with which one «rides the tiger» when it rushes to tear apart every personal intimacy. Not "passive impersonality", suffered by the "brain pile" of the communist herd or the promiscuity of American beatnik monkeys.  Having a personality, but being ready to overlook it, ready to get rid of many feelings like a heavy backpack that cannot be carried under enemy fire. In this sense Evola's teaching is also a philosophy of total war, anyone who has managed to activate this different current of living within themselves will understand transcendence not as a dogma, but as an experience. — Adriano Romualdi, l’uomo e l’opera (1968)

In Roman times 25th December was considered the date of the rising of the sun of an unconquered god: Natalis Solis Invicti. It was the day of Solis novi with which in the imperial era the new year, the new cycle began with a particular drama. Therefore solar Christmas has its origins in the Nordic Aryan Tradition. The winter night represented the lowest point of the ecliptic, that is, the one in which the sun "light of life" seems to set, sinking into the desolate frozen land or into the waters or among the gloomy forests, from which, however, it immediately appears shining brightness again.  Here a new life arises, a new beginning arises, a new beginning of the God-year opens. It is an event felt both by the world and in human interiority. The "light of life" is rekindled. The "solar hero" rises, born from the waters. Beyond the darkness and the deadly cold, a rebirth, a liberation is experienced. The symbolic tree of the world and of life comes alive with new strength. — Evola, 30 dicembre 1941

Of the Sovereign's power, violence is the most inferior form. Violence expresses, in fact, a "being against" or at the same level and not a "being above", ultimately testifies to an impotence, an extrinsic, polemical, dependent relationship that is not truly hierarchical and dominating. Those who truly can have no need for violence: they have no antithesis — they impose themselves directly by virtue of their interior, individual superiority to what they command — all the real dominators in history shows this and even more so at the limit of such a path, where it borders on the Masters and Creators of religions. Beyond it, their means of domination are through ideals, considered not as pale abstractions, but as forces, as principles capable of unleashing energies and social currents through faith. — Evola, “Critica fascista”, IV, 17, 1 Settembre 1926

Evola affirmed the concrete restoration of the traditional Idea of the State, where all its aspects are superordinated from above, where the re-appropriation of the sacred dimension means elevation to the superhuman: spiritual, civic, heroic and political virtues understood as openness to the Sacred, to absolute good, as Plato transmitted, making every effort to become righteous men means tension in conforming to the divine, adhesion to the political order hierarchically, embodying stability in a spiritual sense, equivalent to the superior ethical-political manifestation of the totality of the people as an authentic organic community, manifestation of the inherited values of lineage through the bonds dictated by Blood and Soil. — Maurizio Rossi, LE DUE AQUILE
