It may not as vintage as other classic fiction from that time, but it is undoubtedly eloquently written – unsurprisingly, given the prominence of its author. I wouldn't go as far as to call the book thought-provoking or somehow deep in meaning – rather, it is a light-hearted tall full of many fascinating adventures and the pretentious dialogues of scientists. I like the way Doyle describes environments – it feels as if I were travelling with the characters and narrowly escaped being taken down by the ape-men and pterodactyls 🐔 Give it a read ✅ PS. Banerjee and Esther Duflo 8.7/10 A true gem written by two Nobel Laureates and based on extensive empirical data, this book offers a clear explanation of why all but a billion people live in poverty, surviving on less than 99 cents a day. The authors critique foreign direct investment and other conventional methods of fighting poverty, arguing that they are largely ineffective. Используется, когда ты объясняешь причину, особенно если их несколько. ‼️Важно: она почти всегда звучит с негативной коннотацией — усталость, стресс, опоздание, бардак. Школы устарели, а университет точно не делает вас тем, кем вы стремитесь быть. То, что школы дно, уже всем понятно, но с универами немного по-другому. Например, прохожу сейчас курс Leadership по заумной - забитой бесполезными теориями книге. Из самого курса я не узнал ничего нового, а тем более ничего реально полезного. Вопрос также открыт: как быть таким лидером, чтобы сотрудники работали не ради денег, а ради идеи, так же как и ты сам? И да, такое реально бывает... Вообще, много вопросов на которых я так и не нашёл ответа на "крутых" курсах в университете. В основном, это однотипная теория, которая далека от суровой реальности. Система прогнивает изнутри, поэтому все попытки приукрасить (якобы улучшить) её только усугубляют всю ситуацию. Нынешнее неэффективное образование настолько укоренилось, что любые попытки реформировать систему неизбежно приведут к её краху. Об этом говорит Парадокс Токвилля. Государству выгодно, когда народ необразованный, но вот выгодно ли это стране? Конечно, нет.
