Members of the Midwest Network from several states met up in our beautiful Midwestern forests for a three day, thirty mile hike. Backpacks and beaver dams, campfires and cookouts. Somewhere in the upper midwest, MWN members from two states, along with their families, gathered together for a weekend of fun and community building in the picturesque countryside. A singalong acoustic set on the evening of arrival was followed by a day of fun in the sun, hiking, games, and a chili cook-off in the afternoon. Everyone brought food to pass for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and breakfast again. New bonds were built, old bonds were strengthened, and the next generation learned from watching the previous three. Despite the total number of families present being upwards of a dozen, by the end of the weekend it felt like we were all part of the same one. The future is bright.
