| 3 | 📊 FOREX MARKET UPDATE — WEDNESDAY 9TH SEPTEMBER
Markets are starting today cautiously, with geopolitical tensions and rising oil prices taking centre stage.
🛢️ OIL / RISK SENTIMENT
Brent crude is pushing towards $100 per barrel as tensions in the Middle East continue to escalate.
Higher oil prices = higher inflation concerns, which could keep central banks more hawkish and create volatility across USD, Gold and the major FX pairs.
🇺🇸 USD
The Dollar is slightly softer this morning, but don't get too comfortable with a USD direction yet.
The big US releases come later this week:
Thursday → US PPI inflation
Friday → US CPI inflation
These numbers could significantly change expectations for next week's Federal Reserve decision.
🇪🇺 EUR
EUR is holding firm ahead of tomorrow's ECB interest-rate decision, where markets are currently expecting a 0.25% rate increase.
ECB President Lagarde also speaks tonight, so EUR pairs could see some volatility later in the session.
🇯🇵 JPY
JPY is one of the strongest currencies at the moment.
Expectations of further Bank of Japan rate hikes have pushed the Yen towards seven-month highs against USD.
Be careful trading JPY pairs — we're seeing some aggressive moves and short covering.
🥇 GOLD
Gold remains supported by geopolitical uncertainty and safe-haven demand.
However, we have two competing forces:
Escalating Middle East tensions → bullish Gold
Higher inflation / higher interest-rate expectations → potentially bearish Gold
This means XAU/USD could remain volatile and headline-driven.

EUR/USD — positioning ahead of the ECB
USD/JPY — Yen strength remains the big theme
XAU/USD — Middle East headlines + USD movement
GBP/USD — watching whether USD weakness continues
Oil — a move through $100 Brent could increase volatility across the entire market

The economic calendar isn't particularly heavy today, so don't force trades just because markets are open.
The bigger moves could come from geopolitical headlines and positioning ahead of the ECB and US inflation numbers.
