Direct laryngoscopy..
indication :-
Diagnostic
-To examine the larynx.
- To assess a laryngeal tumour..
Therapeutic
-To remove FB froma larynx .
-All uses of MLS.
Contraindication:-
- penetrating trauma to the upper airway.
- Trismus
- infections, burns, or anaphylaxis.
- Cervical fracture
- Kyphosis
D.D of offensive ear discharge:
1· Unsafe CSOM.
2· Neglected F.B.
3· Necrotising otitis media
4. Malignant in middle ear.
5. Anaerobic bacteria in middle ear.
6-malignant otitis externa

Causes of stridor in children:-
- Congenital.
- Traumatic: FB, Corrosive laryngitis.
- Inflammatory: all acute and chronic.
- Neoplastic: juvenile multiple papillomatosis.
- Miscellaneous:
laryngismus stridulus.
BL abductor VC paralysis.
Laryngeal edema.

· Antrochoanal polyp
· Angiofibroma.
· Inverted papilloma.

· Rhinoscleroma.

· Nasal diphteria .
· maxillary sinusitis(of dental origin) .

· Glomus
· High jugular bulb
· Carotid aneurysm

· ASOM.
· Acute exacerbation on top of CSOM
