Heart failure: Chest radiograph and electrocardiogram for determination of ventricular hypertrophy
Echocardiogram for quantifying LVEF to determine is systolic or diastolic dysfunction is present
Meningitis: CSF culture
Osteoporosis: Dual energy X-ray absorptiometry scan (DXA scan)
Gout: aspiration of synovial fluid from affected joint and identification of MSU monohydrate in synovial fluid leukocytes
Diabetes mellitus: the most accurate diagnosis is A1C
UTI: quantitative urine culture
Rheumatoid arthritis: Criteria use scoring system 6 or more out of 10 indicate rheumatoid arthritis
