| 10 | Ferrari Unveils Fully Electric Car
Ferraris are known for their loud, powerful, high-revving engines. But the newest car from this luxury maker could be a little quieter.
Ferrari has unveiled its first fully electric car โ and prices start at $640,000.
The car is called the Luce ("LOO-chay"), which is Italian for "light." It's got five seats โ a first for a Ferrari โ and has an electric motor on each wheel.
The Luce, which has been in development for about five years, can hit 100 kilometers per hour in as little as 2.5 seconds.
Most family cars take six to 10 seconds to do the same, though it's not unusual for electric vehicles to do it faster โ with the Tesla Model S actually getting to 100 kilometers per hour in 2.1 seconds.
The Luce's top speed is 310 kilometers per hour, and it can travel over 500 kilometers when fully charged.
The company says the Luce is its "most comfortable Ferrari ever."
And while it won't have the sounds of a gasoline engine, Ferrari said the car will amplify the sounds of the electric motors' vibrations, making it sound and feel more like other Ferraris.
However, people online aren't happy with how different the car looks from other Ferraris.
The company said it could take some time for people to appreciate it.
Ferrari has released its electric car at a time when other car companies โ including luxury makers โ are reducing their electric vehicle plans because interest has been lower than expected.
Lamborghini has decided to focus more on hybrid cars, while Porsche has reduced its plans for electric cars because of poor sales and competition from Chinese carmakers.
But according to the BBC, Ferrari may be less affected by these problems because it sells a small number of very expensive and exclusive cars.

But that might become a little easier for people in Japan, because the country's Consumer Affairs Agency has announced plans for a new QR code system for labels on processed foods.
In Japan, packages for processed foods must have a label showing things like the "best before" date, where the product was made, how to store it, and all the ingredients and additives.
However, some worry that adding more information in the future could make food labels too crowded and hard to read.
Having a QR code on the label could help with this problem โ because according to the Consumer Affairs Agency, less information will be printed on the label itself, making it easier to read.
Shoppers could also make the label information larger when they read it on their phone screens โ or even read it in other languages.
Companies could also more easily change label information if ingredients need to be changed โ although there are worries that companies could also hide information if problems are found with some ingredients, so any changes to ingredient lists would have to be saved.
It will take some time for this new system to start, because the way it will work is still being discussed. It's also not yet clear what information would be printed directly on the product label, and what information would be given digitally.
There are also worries about how the system would work for people who don't have smartphones.
The system could start being used by the end of 2027 at the earliest, according to Jiji Press.
But it's hoped that it will help people make better-informed choices when they're buying food.
