Inspiring Medical Students and Public Health Enthusiasts: WHEN A MEDICAL STUDENT BECOMES THE CASE Ruth Shoatatek, a C1 medical student, was diagnosed with Mirizzi Syndrome and underwent major successful open surgery performed by her own teacher,Dr.Mikias, head of the Surgery Department. She later presented her own case as a BEDSIDE on the very bed she was admitted as a post-op patient after a stay inside the ICU! a quiet reminder of resilience and the path she's chosen.
